If you can believe, everything is possible to the one who believes

Jesus said unto him, If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth.

Mark 9:23

It is important to see why Jesus said these words and who He speaks to about believing, and on top of that, what He could accomplish.

These words of the Master are found in the Gospel according to Saint Mark in its chapter 9 from verse 14. There we will find the Master who approaches a large crowd that disputed with the scribes.

This dipute was generated because there was a man who had a son who was attacked by spirit that the disciples could not cast out. But Jesus, seeing what was happening, stopped and asked the following:

21 And he asked his father, How long is it ago since this came unto him? And he said, Of a child.

22 And ofttimes it hath cast him into the fire, and into the waters, to destroy him: but if thou canst do any thing, have compassion on us, and help us.

Mark 9:21-22

Clearly we can see Jesus talking to this man about the state of his son, but one of the most interesting things is the way this man shows his humility and faith before the Lord, asking for mercy and help because he knew that the Master could heal his son.

This spirit wanted to finish this young man, because the enemy always seeks to achieve his evil goal, but God is always in control of everything. Then Jesus shows how we can accomplish the things that are within His will:

And when Jesus came into the ruler’s house, and saw the minstrels and the people making a noise,

Matthew 9:23

And then Jesus healed the boy. There is no difficult problem for God. Let us believe faithfully in the Lord and everything will be possible.
