The firm rock is our Lord. Through Him we can walk confidently, since if we walk on this rock, we will never fall into the void.
For example, when we build a house on land that is not firm, what would happen? Well, the house will sink little by little, but when we build this house on strong and firm earth, it is very difficult for the house to sink or fall, because you knew how to build on good soil or on a rock that is totally firm.
That is why we make a brief comparison of who our Lord is for us, He is our sustenance and who cares for us day after day, so we must fully trust. God is our adviser our helper, only He is the one who guides our walk, who affirms our step is the Lord of hosts.
In the book of Psalms, we find a prayer from David to God, for God to help him and give him an answer, but let’s see the call that David is making in this psalm:
Unto thee will I cry, O Lord my rock; be not silent to me: lest, if thou be silent to me, I become like them that go down into the pit.
Psalm 28:1 (KJV)
We can see that apart from David crying out to God for His great goodness and great mercy, but in this psalm we can see that David also praises God, this says David: “Unto thee will I cry, O Lord my rock”, that is, the Lord is our Rock and we must always trust Him.
So it is good that every day, we can be on the firm Rock, walk on the Rock that is our Lord, because if we trust this strong and firm Rock we will not collapse because The Lord is the one who sustains us.
