In this article we will look at a verse from the last chapter of the book of Revelation. Let us remember that this book is a symbolic and prophetic book that teaches us how difficult the end times will be and the signs that would tell us when the end will be.
Revelation urges us to be alert and in total vigilance, because certainly the Lord is coming shortly. That is why the invitation is for us to be ready for this great moment that will happen all over the world. The coming of the Lord will take many by surprise.
It is important that we take into account what John says in verse 20 of chapter 22 of Revelation, after what Jesus says, who is the one who makes this mention of bearing witness to all these things.
He which testifieth these things saith, Surely I come quickly. Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus.
Revelation 22:20 (KJV)
The expression, “Surely I come quickly” is the Lord himself speaking so that we are prepared for the day of His coming. That is why we see that John himself says: “Yes, come, Lord Jesus.”
Let us clearly remember that Jesus spoke to the same disciples about His coming, that is, He speaks of all the things that were to happen in those days.
In this phrase Jesus puts a lot of emphasis, that “I come quickly”, that is why He asks us to be prepared for that great day of His arrival in search of His pure holy people, and all those who truly expected Him.
