If we watch, stand firm and strive we can withstand the attacks of the enemy and in this way we can be true Christians who seek the divine will of God.
When a soldier goes to war, he never goes with his rifle unloaded, because if he does that, he will be easy prey for those who are against him. But whoever is firm and watching will not be taken by surprise because his rifle will be ready and the soldier is alert. In this same way must be everyone who walks in the ways of the Lord.
The one who is attentive and firm, can remain on the roads, striving at all times, in the bad and in the good moments, acting in this way will be able to become calm, even in the middle of his struggle because he knows God will be with him.
In the first letter of the apostle Paul to the Corinthians we find a teaching that we can apply today to be able to remain in the Lord in these difficult times:
Watch ye, stand fast in the faith, quit you like men, be strong.
1 Corinthians 16:13
Clearly Paul was speaking to Christians about their steadfastness in the Lord’s way, walking in faith faithfully and doing all the Lord’s things with great love.
The apostle Paul knew that as time passed, things were changing, that is why he exhorted on these things, encouraging the church to stand firm, to watch and behave as men and women of God and above all to do all things with love.
We know that we can accomplish all of these things by being subject to the Lord’s commands, acting with great devotion and love. Let’s take and practice this great advice of the Apostle Paul.
