Who will inhabit the earth? In this article we will see some proverbs of Solomon about God’s promise to Israel.
The Lord clearly commanded the people to walk in His righteous and faithful commandments and not to do whatever things came to their mind. The Lord was making it clear that they could not disobey His statutes because He was in heaven and His eyes were above from them.
21 For the upright shall dwell in the land, and the perfect shall remain in it.
22 But the wicked shall be cut off from the earth, and the transgressors shall be rooted out of it.
Proverbs 2:21-22 (KJV)
Do you want to enter the promised land? Solomon says that only the upright and pure in heart, those who obey the Lord’s command, who walk in integrity, these are the ones who will inhabit the promised land.
But what was the Lord doing with those who wanted to do their own will? They were cut off for their disobedience, for being unjust and not respecting the law of the Lord. That is why Solomon compiles all these teachings for you in the book of Proverbs, so that we can walk in the way of the Lord, upright, firm and confident.
God through His word teaches us day after day how we should walk, that is why He left us His word so that we can be guided by it, so that when we search we can find encouraging words and these will always lead us in the straight path of the Lord.
