This title belongs to words spoken by God to His people Israel when He brought them out of Egypt with a strong hand. God did not take His people out to wander in the wilderness, but He was also going to lead them to the promised land.
The Bible says:
23 For mine Angel shall go before thee, and bring thee in unto the Amorites, and the Hittites, and the Perizzites, and the Canaanites, the Hivites, and the Jebusites: and I will cut them off.
24 Thou shalt not bow down to their gods, nor serve them, nor do after their works: but thou shalt utterly overthrow them, and quite break down their images.
25 And ye shall serve the Lord your God, and he shall bless thy bread, and thy water; and I will take sickness away from the midst of thee.
Exodus 23:23-25 (KJV)
Israel would go through the desert, but they would also have to battle with certain nations that were powerful, but what did it matter? The Angel of the Lord would go with them and I don’t think anyone can fight against God and win.
Israel had the highest privilege and was that the Lord fought for them. But all this was followed by the great commandment: “You shall worship only the Lord your God”.
Israel must be clear that they could not bow to other gods and that they had to be faithful and obedient.
We know that in that history Israel was not faithful, but several times deviated after the idols. God wants the best for us even when we are going through the desert, instead, are we listening to that voice that guides us to all justice and truth?
