In this article we will see a great teaching about a faithful servant.
Consider the example of a job interview, then they call you and you accept the job, because you promise the company to fulfill the responsibilities assigned to you. You will be a faithful employee in said company.
But in this case, we will talk about being a faithful servant in the presence of our God, and that is why we will talk about the gospel according to Saint Matthew in its chapter 25:
His lord said unto him, Well done, good and faithful servant; thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord.
Matthew 25:23 (KJV)
Well, many know this great story of the parable of the talents, we know that each selected person was given talents according to their ability.
In this parable, we can see that the majority complied with what was ordered, since their lord left them in charge to multiply the talents that were given to them. That is why the Lord mentions to them the words of verse 23 that says “good and faithful servant; you have been faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things.”
But there was a man who did nothing with the only talent that was given to him, he just buried him, and this man the Lord asks to be thrown into the outer darkness, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.
We must obey the Lord in everything being faithful to Him, let us fulfill our duty and as Christians, let us be faithful with everything that the Lord left us to fulfill it.
