Our God gives us a refuge that no man can give us, a safe refuge and that we receive with all our love.
Our God is wonderful, His love and His mercy are what sustain us, protect us, and encourages us to continue fighting.
A person without refuge from the Lord is like a house without a foundation, this house without footing or foundation falls easily when a storm arrives. It would happen to the contrary having our God as our refuge, who protects us from all evil that may come.
God will be our sustenance, He is the one who sustains us in all our problems. When we go to God for refuge, He accepts us, lets us in and offers us that protection and strength that we cannot find in any other.
7 Thou art my hiding place; thou shalt preserve me from trouble; thou shalt compass me about with songs of deliverance. Selah.
8 I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go: I will guide thee with mine eye.
Psalm 32:7-8 (KJV)
These were the words that the psalmist David could say, this man spoke words of trust towards God, because his trust in God always remained.
In this psalm we can see that David is clearly being thankful, because he was always surrounded by songs of praise. The way of the Lord was safe for David and that is why the psalmist said: You are my refuge.
