The Bible teaches us multitudes of times that our response to adversity is in the constant search for God and sometimes, as believers, we forget that great and powerful detail.
The Bible teaches us:
4 I sought the Lord, and he heard me, and delivered me from all my fears.
5 They looked unto him, and were lightened: and their faces were not ashamed.
6 This poor man cried, and the Lord heard him, and saved him out of all his troubles.
7 The angel of the Lord encampeth round about them that fear him, and delivereth them.
Psalm 34:4-7 (KJV)
These verses are very famous, you may remember them, since there are even songs written about this passage of the Bible, but do we really understand what it says there? This biblical passage is nothing more than the song of a desperate man who understood that his answer was in God and not in himself.
Sometimes these things get out of hand and when we find ourselves drowning in problems we turn to everything but God.
Oh, the psalmist says that he sought God and was delivered from all his fears. And luckily, to seek God we do not have to make an appointment or pay money, we simply have to go before Him, express our fears and difficulties and surely His peace that surpasses all understanding will enlighten us.
