We have our greatest example of bearing the trial and His name is Jesus Christ, because He, in the same flesh, destroyed the works of the flesh. In the flesh He destroyed sin, gave us salvation, overcame on the cross suffering for us. And the good thing is that He promised us to be with us to the end.
The Bible declares:
4 Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.
5 They are of the world: therefore speak they of the world, and the world heareth them.
6 We are of God: he that knoweth God heareth us; he that is not of God heareth not us. Hereby know we the spirit of truth, and the spirit of error.
1 John 4:4-6 (KJV)
First of all, the Bible does not tell us that we possibly have an opportunity to overcome the world, no, but that we have already overcome the world and this is precisely because Jesus Christ overcame the world.
It also tells us that He who is with us is greater than he who is in the world. Can the prince of this world separate us from God, or can some man pluck us from the precious hands of our Savior? No way, because with us is someone greater called God.
We are from God, and that makes us as sheep listen to His voice in the midst of a generation that loves sin.
