Walk in the Spirit

Living in the Spirit is the constant struggle that every Christian will have until we go to Christ or Christ comes to us. Let us not believe in the idea that this is something easy, because the flesh will make us various offers and that will keep us busy in a fight between the flesh and the Spirit.

The apostle Paul said:

16 This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.

17 For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would.

18 But if ye be led of the Spirit, ye are not under the law.

Galatians 5:16-18

In verse 16 Paul does not give us a suggestion, but rather an order that we must not satisfy the lust of the flesh, which we know to be anger, enmities, fornication, etc. Then in verse 17 he tells us that those desires are against what God wants for our lives and that these two desires live in constant struggle.

How can we be victorious in a fight as spiritual as this? The key is that if we dedicate our lives to spiritual things, then in that way we are denying ourselves to the carnal, and I assure you that God will give us strength to bear the trials.
