My soul waiteth for the Lord

The world lives with different kinds of hopes, some in false religions, others in themselves and some in nothing. We live with hope that does not fail, because our hope is found in Almighty God.

The psalmist said:

5 I wait for the Lord, my soul doth wait, and in his word do I hope.

6 My soul waiteth for the Lord more than they that watch for the morning: I say, more than they that watch for the morning.

7 Let Israel hope in the Lord: for with the Lord there is mercy, and with him is plenteous redemption.

8 And he shall redeem Israel from all his iniquities.

Psalm 130:5-8

The word waiting may sound difficult, sometimes we even run out of patience waiting for something, but there is a wait that is worth it, and it is the Lord.

Whatever our need, circumstances, and problems may be, our first solution must be to wait on God and on His strength. There are things that we cannot fight against with our human strength and that is where we must be patient and fully wait on the Lord.

The psalmist here says that His soul waited on God more than the morning sentinels, why? Because he knew that in God we find abundant mercy and redemption.

Trust God, wait on Him, give everything you are to the Lord.
