God has always wanted humanity to draw closer to Him, and it is precisely this action that should make us think about how much God loves us, because, being us as we are, even so God seeks us for His love and mercy, and therefore we must draw near to Him.
The apostle Peter said:
4 To whom coming, as unto a living stone, disallowed indeed of men, but chosen of God, and precious,
5 Ye also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ.
1 Peter 2:4-5
The first thing is that we must approach Jesus. God was the first to approach us and if we are true Christians then the only one we should approach is God. Did you know that you can belong to a Christian congregation and still be far from the Living Stone? But let us remember Peter’s words: “Drawing near to Him.”
Jesus is that stone that the men rejected, preferring this world, but certainly chosen by God as King and Lord.
And if Jesus is a living stone, then we too have been called to be built, to be like Jesus, to show this world who Jesus is. So, brothers, it is time to show that light and remember our legacy of building the Kingdom of God on earth.
