How can we define God? There are no words that can define Him completely, since He is such an immense and indescribable being for our finite minds.
We must be clear about this, God is too big, we are like ants before Him. There is nothing that can be likened to or compared to God, even the most powerful angel is worthy of being compared to the might of our sublime God. He simply has no rivals, there is no one who can lead Him, and there is nothing so beautiful that can resemble Him.
See what the prophet Isaiah says about the immensity of our Lord:
1 Thus saith the Lord, The heaven is my throne, and the earth is my footstool: where is the house that ye build unto me? and where is the place of my rest?
2 For all those things hath mine hand made, and all those things have been, saith the Lord: but to this man will I look, even to him that is poor and of a contrite spirit, and trembleth at my word.
Isaiah 66:1-2
Do you think God can fit in a temple made by the hands of men? Well look, the sky is huge, and it’s like a throne to Him, the earth is big in size and that’s where He rests His feet. Possibly these words are not literal, but they do help us understand a little about how great our Lord is.
God does not conform to our human thoughts, but He is majestic and powerful and even the heavens of heaven can contain Him. O beloved brothers, the good news is that we serve that immense God and that even though He is so great, He wants to have a friendship with us that we are smaller than an ant before Him.
