It is clear that if we seek God and approach Him, we will be clean from our sins, but it will depend entirely on you, since it is not impossible for God to forgive you. Come to the Lord.
The same Word of the Lord tells us to seek God while He can be found. The best news is that God is closer than you imagine, what do you expect to get closer to Him? God waits for you.
Remember that the enemy of souls does not waste time, but that is why God is there to help you, to strengthen you, to give you new strength, so that you may know of His wonders.
1 Have mercy upon me, O God, according to thy lovingkindness: according unto the multitude of thy tender mercies blot out my transgressions.
2 Wash me throughly from mine iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin.
Psalm 51:1-2
We can say like this man “Wash me throughly from mine iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin”. God can do it, but first of all we must have a determined heart and approach God with humility.
Come to the Lord with all your burdens, God will change your heart, He will be waiting for you. Don’t stop even if others make fun of you, God is waiting for you with open arms.
In verse 1 we see how the writer of this psalm asks for forgiveness of sins. These are the words we can say before the Lord with a humiliated heart. God will do something different in your life, and those who mocked you will receive the good of God and come to His presence to know the one who turned your mourning into dancing and clothed you with gladness. This is God.
Psalm 51 shows us a sincere and broken heart before God. It is not a superficial prayer, nor empty words spoken by habit, but a deep cry that comes from someone who recognizes his condition and understands that only God can restore him. This is an important lesson for our lives, because many times we want God to change our situation without first allowing Him to change our heart.
When we approach God honestly, without excuses and without justifying our faults, His mercy reaches us. God does not reject a contrite heart; on the contrary, He receives it and works powerfully in it. Forgiveness is not something we earn by our own merits, but something we receive by grace when we humble ourselves and acknowledge our need for Him.
Seeking God requires a decision. It is not something automatic, nor does it depend on emotions alone. It is a daily choice to turn away from sin and draw near to the Lord. Even when we feel unworthy, even when shame tries to keep us away, that is precisely when we must come closer, because God specializes in restoring what seems lost.
The Lord not only forgives, but also cleanses and renews. When God washes us, He removes the guilt that weighs down our soul and gives us a new beginning. This inner cleansing brings peace, restores joy, and gives us strength to continue walking in His ways. God does not remind us of our past to condemn us, but to show us how far His mercy can reach.
Those who decide to return to God will experience transformation. God changes mourning into joy, despair into hope, and weakness into strength. Even those who once doubted or mocked will be witnesses of what God can do in a surrendered life. The testimony of a restored heart speaks louder than any words.
Today is a good time to seek the Lord. Do not postpone your decision, do not let fear or pride stop you. God remains faithful, waiting for you with open arms, ready to forgive, heal, and restore. Come to Him, trust in His mercy, and allow Him to make everything new in your life.
