We must walk in the law of the Lord, because being under His law we will be obedient to Him and do what our God likes.
Every being created by God must walk in His law day and night, practice all that God has given us. Remember that it is better to be obedient than to offer sacrifices without obedience. The Scriptures show us repeatedly that God is more pleased with a humble and obedient heart than with any outward action done without sincerity. To walk in His law is to walk in wisdom, in reverence, and in love toward the One who has given us life.
That is why it is good that we walk under the guidance of God, because being under His guidance we can walk according to His divine will. Without His guidance we easily stray, but under His loving direction our steps are firm, steady, and protected from deceit.
Ye shall walk after the Lord your God, and fear him, and keep his commandments, and obey his voice, and ye shall serve him, and cleave unto him.
Deuteronomy 13:4
As this verse tells us, let us walk under His law, since this is one of the commandments that the Lord has placed before us to fulfill all that is written in His true and Holy Word. The passage emphasizes not only obedience, but also reverence, service, and devotion. Walking after God implies intentionally following His steps, aligning our decisions with His Word, and seeking His approval above all earthly things. So it is good that we be attentive and hear His voice, because His voice is life, truth, and wisdom.
If we listen to the voice of our most high God, we will not be deceived and we can carry His law straight. In a world full of false doctrines, confusion, and voices that try to lead us away from the truth, the voice of God is the only one that provides clarity. By dwelling under His power and guidance each day, our spiritual discernment grows, and we learn to distinguish between what is fleeting and what is eternal. Listening to Him keeps our hearts anchored in righteousness.
There is nothing better than to be guided by the One who created us, who gave us light in the midst of darkness, the One who straightens our steps. Every path outside of God leads to uncertainty, but every path under His direction leads to peace. This is our God—faithful, wise, patient, and full of mercy. He does not ask us to walk in His law as a burden, but as the safest and most blessed way to live.
Let us be obedient, let us walk under His purpose, because if we do all these things that He has commanded, we will be wise and obedient people to the law of the Lord. The law of God is not just a list of rules; it is a fountain of life, a shield, a lamp for our feet, and a compass for our souls. When we submit to His Word, we become people who reflect His character, who love His truth, and who walk in integrity before Him.
Glorify the Lord for this His law. Let us rejoice that we have a God who speaks, who teaches, who corrects, who guides. May we cling to Him daily, not out of obligation, but out of gratitude, knowing that the safest place to walk is always behind the footsteps of our Lord.
