Sometimes there are bad times and many difficulties in which we must be firm and prepared on the firm rock that is the God of armies.
God is the Rock, our foundation, without this foundation we could be torn down, because Christ is the one who sustains us and helps us to be stronger in His ways. Storms may come, but God will always be there to help us. The Christian walk is not exempt from trials; in fact, the Bible teaches us that storms are part of the formation of our character in Christ. Yet, even when the winds blow fiercely, the believer who stands on the Rock remains standing, because his trust is placed not in himself, but in the eternal God who does not move.
Remember that when we are going through those moments, although we feel that God is not there, He is present, because otherwise, our life would have been demolished. Many times, emotions make us think that God is distant, but the truth is that His mercy surrounds us even when we do not feel it. His hand holds us when our strength runs out. His love becomes our shelter when we feel deserted. And His grace sustains us so that the enemy cannot destroy what God has begun in us.
The Lord is good, a strong hold in the day of trouble; and he knoweth them that trust in him.
Nahum 1:7
It is good to see how the Father day after day has a word of encouragement through the Holy Scriptures. Our God is our strength, which in the day of our anguish restores us. Every verse reminds us that we are not alone, that heaven knows our battles, and that God’s goodness is not a temporary emotion but an eternal truth. Nahum tells us that God “knows them that trust in Him,” meaning that He has a special care for His children—He does not forget them, He does not abandon them, and He does not overlook their affliction.
That is why it is good that every day we fully trust in Him, that He is our Rock, who helps us get ahead. Trusting God is not a one-time action; it is a daily decision, especially when circumstances shake everything around us. This is what the writer of this book is making clear to us: that we trust in the Lord, and thus His mercy will surround us and help us in all difficult times. God does not call us to understand everything that happens, but to trust Him in everything that happens.
Storms may be strong, but the Rock is stronger. Trials may be long, but God’s faithfulness is eternal. Problems may appear like great mountains, but God remains higher than all of them. And even if the night is dark, the light of His presence continues to shine for those who cling to Him with all their heart.
So, if your house is built on the Rock, then don’t be afraid. The house built on sand collapses quickly, but the one founded on Christ remains firm. God is and will be with you, no matter what storm you are going through; He is your guardian and your strength. Even when everything seems uncertain, His promises remain secure. Even when we do not see the way out, God is already working. Even when we feel weak, His power is perfected in our weakness.
Believe and trust Him with all your heart. He has never lost a battle, He has never failed one of His children, and He will not start failing you now. Let this truth sustain you: the Rock of ages is your refuge, your firm foundation, and your everlasting strength.
