Do things from the heart

In Colossians 3:18-25 the apostle tells us about the social duties in our new life as believers and in the previous verses about our old life and the one we live now after receiving Christ, that is, everything is connected regarding to what we were before, and how we should be now.

In the same chapter three of the letter to the Colossians, exactly from verse 18 to 25 Paul makes a series of ordinances to that church about how they should live in their new life as believers in Christ.

He speaks to married women, husbands, children, parents and servants. Practically in these verses, he is speaking to all kind of people about their daily duties, reminding them that they should no longer proceed as before, but that in Christ everything is very different.

Are you a believer? Then you should not behave roughly your spouse, and is that when Christ comes to the life of a person, his life changes radically and we can no longer be those kind of people who do everything with anger, but with love. Let’s look at Paul’s instructions:

18 Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as it is fit in the Lord.

19 Husbands, love your wives, and be not bitter against them.

20 Children, obey your parents in all things: for this is well pleasing unto the Lord.

21 Fathers, provoke not your children to anger, lest they be discouraged.

22 Servants, obey in all things your masters according to the flesh; not with eyeservice, as menpleasers; but in singleness of heart, fearing God;

23 And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men;

Colossians 3:18-23

Are you father, son, wife, employee? Do all that with love, from the heart, as for the Lord, not for men, since the Lord’s reward is great.

  1. Let me love my wife, children, family, neighbours and strangers from my heart as to the Lord Jesus Christ and not unto man, and let me see them through the eyes of God the Father. What an awesome, anointed, and encouraging passage of scripture which we often times fail to do, thanks for the amazing text and reminder not to hurt but to love one another, Lord forgive me, Amen,😭
