Trusting God in hard times

The world today is very scared, because we are seeing from natural disasters to an incredible level of corruption that keeps the world immersed in chaos. But, in the midst of this complicated time we must trust God more than ever, believing that despite all this He loves us.

It is evident that humanity is living days of uncertainty. Wars, diseases, earthquakes, moral decline, injustice and fear seem to increase every day. Many people live with anxiety, not knowing what tomorrow will bring, worried about their families, their work, their future and even their own lives. However, the believer is called to look beyond what the eyes can see and to place his confidence not in circumstances, but in the eternal and faithful God.

Jeremiah said the following:

7 Blessed is the man that trusteth in the Lord, and whose hope the Lord is.

8 For he shall be as a tree planted by the waters, and that spreadeth out her roots by the river, and shall not see when heat cometh, but her leaf shall be green; and shall not be careful in the year of drought, neither shall cease from yielding fruit.

Jeremiah 17:7-8

These words were spoken in a difficult context, in times when the people were facing judgment, uncertainty and fear. Yet, God makes a clear difference between those who trust in Him and those who rely on human strength. The one who trusts in the Lord is compared to a tree firmly planted by waters, with deep roots that draw life even in seasons of drought. This image reminds us that true security does not come from the absence of problems, but from being rooted in God.

If in the midst of all this we are living today you continue to trust in God, then the Bible blesses you, and it is that we as Christians, as God’s people, must know that all this is happening is something that the Word of God tells us that would happen, then, are we going to tremble in the face of such moments? It is normal that we feel fear, etc. But in the face of all this we must know that our house is on the Rock that is Christ and that regardless of the storm He is with us until the end.

Jesus Himself warned that difficult times would come, but He also taught us where to build our lives. When our faith is founded on Christ, the storms may shake us, but they will not destroy us. The believer may feel pain, sadness or concern, but he does not lose hope, because he knows that God remains in control and that nothing escapes His sovereign will.

Beloved reader, even if evil is multiplied, even if there are natural disasters, even if the economy goes down, even if the world does not accept us, even if whatever happens has to happen, with all that and more we will remain confident in the God of our Salvation.

Trusting God does not mean ignoring reality, but facing it with faith. It means praying when fear knocks at our door, holding on to the promises of Scripture and remembering that God has never abandoned His people. Throughout history, those who trusted in the Lord were sustained, guided and strengthened even in the darkest moments.

Therefore, let us continue to trust, to believe and to hope. Let us strengthen our relationship with God through prayer and His Word, knowing that He is our refuge, our strength and our help in times of trouble. No matter how uncertain the world becomes, our confidence remains firm in the Lord, because He is faithful and His love endures forever.

The Word of God heals wounds and frees the spirit
Under His Presence, we will never be defeated
