Sometimes there come times when we cannot do anything because we don’t have the strength, but God in His infinite mercy gives us the strength we need and sustains us.
These moments usually arrive unexpectedly, when human resources are exhausted and our own abilities are no longer enough. It is precisely there, in the midst of weakness, that we understand that strength does not truly come from ourselves, but from the Lord who created us. God never abandons His children, and even when everything seems lost, He remains faithful, sustaining us with His grace.
All we can achieve is because God helps us and increases our wisdom and strength so that we can move forward in His ways. That is why we give thanks for all that God does with us and praise His holy and blessed name.
Recognizing God as the source of our strength keeps us humble and dependent on Him. Many times success can make us forget where our help truly comes from, but the believer who walks in wisdom understands that every step forward is possible only because God allows it. Gratitude then becomes a constant attitude in our lives, not only in moments of abundance but also in times of trial.
Our strength comes from the Lord. Believe it. For this reason we will quote a verse from the book of Psalms that tells us about the difficult times that the writer of that psalm lived and how he asked God for strength. He asked God because he knew that God would answer him and He is the only one who can give us that strength we need.
The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusted in him, and I am helped: therefore my heart greatly rejoiceth; and with my song will I praise him.
Psalm 28:7
The clear thing is that we see the psalmist David asking the Lord for help, we know that David was doing these things because only God could defend and sustain him.
David’s life was filled with difficult moments, persecutions, battles, and internal struggles. Yet, in each circumstance, he learned that trusting in God was not optional but necessary. David did not rely on his experience as a warrior or king; instead, he acknowledged that his true protection came from the Lord, who acted as his shield against every enemy.
Not everyone has this kind of attitude, of asking God for help, many believe that with their strength they can continue but it is not so, and that is why we should take this living example of the psalmist David.
Human pride often leads people to depend on their own abilities, forgetting that strength has limits. When life becomes overwhelming, that false confidence collapses. David teaches us that asking God for help is not a sign of weakness but of faith, because it recognizes God as the supreme source of power and protection.
Let’s look carefully at the words that this man pronounced before God. David was clearly making a statement of what God was for him: His shield and strength. That is why David trusted God, because he could see the hand of God always working in his life.
God’s presence in David’s life was evident through deliverance, guidance, and constant care. In the same way, when we reflect on our own lives, we can see how God has sustained us in moments where we thought we would fall. His hand works silently but powerfully, strengthening us day after day.
Just as this man fully trusted God, with all his heart, we also trust, we believe that God is our shelter and eternal strength.
When we place our trust in the Lord, we find rest for our souls and renewed strength to continue. God remains our refuge in times of trouble, our strength when we feel weak, and our shield against every adversity. Trusting Him allows us to move forward with confidence, knowing that He sustains us today and forever.
