A good work in Christ Jesus

When we do something for God, let’s do it with pleasure from the heart, not being sad at any time, rather with joy from the heart because we must be grateful to God for having mercy on us and for choosing us for a good work.

There is a great difference between doing something out of obligation and doing it out of gratitude. When the heart understands the greatness of God and the depth of His love, serving Him becomes a privilege, not a burden. The believer who knows the grace of God does not drag his feet in obedience, nor does he complain about the good he is called to do. Instead, he rejoices, because each good work becomes an opportunity to express love to the One who first loved us.

The best of all is that we thank God for being so good to us, for that sacrifice made on the cross of Calvary to give us life and life in abundance. Every act of service, every gesture of kindness, every effort for the kingdom of God should come wrapped in gratitude, remembering that we were rescued from darkness and transferred to the kingdom of His beloved Son. If Christ gave everything for us, how can we not serve Him with joy?

It is not that we will be rewarded for doing a work, or that our salvation depends on it. NO. Salvation is entirely by grace. But since Christ chose us, loved us, and redeemed us, we must be happy and act with love in everything we do. Good works do not save us, but they do show that we have been saved. They are the visible fruit of an inward transformation.

For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.
Ephesians 2:10

This verse reminds us that we are not only forgiven—we are recreated. We are His workmanship, His masterpiece, shaped by His own hands. And if the Creator formed us with purpose, then every good work becomes part of that divine design. This means that none of our efforts in the Lord are in vain. Even the smallest act of kindness, when done for His glory, has eternal value.

We are His creation, we are made with His own hands, for this reason we are more than blessed in the Lord. For this reason, let us be wise and in this same way let us act of good will. Let us not see things as difficult, but see everything through the lens of God’s strength, asking Him daily for new forces so that we may continue, with a joyful heart, the good works entrusted to each one of His children.

Let us be good stewards of what the Lord put in us, and act with joy. God has placed in every believer gifts, talents, opportunities, and responsibilities. These are not random; they are part of His plan for our lives. Whether we serve through preaching, helping others, encouraging a brother, supporting the needy, or simply living faithfully day by day, everything counts before God. Therefore, let us not abandon these good works, but embrace them with gladness. Let us take advantage of every opportunity that God has placed in our hands.

These good works that God prepared for us benefit us in everything. Serving God strengthens our character, builds humility, teaches patience, and fills us with spiritual joy. When we serve with the right heart, our faith grows. And even though trials come, God sustains us so that we do not faint. He shapes us through service.

God does not leave us alone; He is present when we need Him. If we ask, He answers according to His perfect will. Even when we feel weak or unable, He renews our strength. Therefore, let us willingly attend to what was put by God in our hands. Let us walk in those good works with gratitude, dedication, and joy, knowing that everything we do for the Lord has eternal impact.
