Ask God without despair

When you ask God remember that He arrives at the right time, not when you want, because He is the One who knows everything.

Many times we fall into the mistake of believing that God must respond immediately, according to our urgency or our emotions. However, God does not work under our calendar. He is the Lord of time, the One who sees the whole panorama, and He knows exactly when something will bless us or harm us. That is why the believer must learn to trust not only in the answer of God, but in the timing of God. His time is perfect, and though we do not always understand it, His decisions are always for our good.

If we make decisions lightly we will sin against God. If you asked, wait on Him. Acting without waiting for His direction can lead us to unnecessary pain, because when we rush, we act guided by emotion, not by faith. God does not take time, He knows when to act, so do not set a date. Many believers fall into frustration because they mentally put deadlines for God to act, forgetting that He does not respond to pressure, but to purpose.

If it is God who sets the date, He will fulfill above all that wants to oppose, because He is God and you have to obey Him. Nothing can stop what God has ordained. Neither circumstances, nor people, nor spiritual opposition can block a blessing that God has determined for you. But we must remain still, trusting, in peace, believing that His will is better than ours.

For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.

Matthew 7:8

Jesus speaking these things to His disciples told them these words that are truly encouraging—words that strengthen the heart of every believer. He wanted them to understand that the Father is not indifferent, that He listens, sees, and responds. When Jesus says, “ask and it will be given,” He is not promising to fulfill our whims, but to answer according to His perfect love. When He says, “seek and you will find,” He urges us to persist. And when He promises, “knock and it will be opened,” He is revealing that no door in heaven is closed to a humble and sincere heart.

It is good that in all things we seek the Lord, that we draw closer to Him, because if we are close to Him, we will be better, because apart from Him we are nothing. Distance from God produces confusion, but closeness produces clarity. Whoever seeks God does not remain the same. The heart becomes firmer, the mind calmer, and the spirit stronger. Seeking God must not be our last resort, but our first step in every decision.

But also another very good part is that when we ask God we do it with peace, patience and humility of heart, since we cannot ask God while questioning Him and wanting Him to do what we want. God is sovereign. He is not obligated to follow our desires, for He is the Potter and we are the clay. When we come before Him, we must do it recognizing His authority, submitting our will to His, and acknowledging that His answer—whether “yes,” “no,” or “wait”—is always the best answer.

It is good that we ask Him in a good way, even if you feel the most desperate, because God understands your tears, your silence, and your brokenness. Even so, God will arrive at the exact moment. He will not let us die, nor will He abandon His children in the middle of the desert. He will come to our help, strengthen us, restore us, and lift our spirit when we feel weak. God never comes early and never comes late. He always comes at the precise moment.

Do not doubt— that door will open when you knock, you will receive when you ask, and you will find when you seek Him with a sincere heart. Trust His timing, rest in His will, and believe that the answer is on its way, even if your eyes cannot see it yet.
