Sometimes we feel that we are alone, helpless, we feel that God is not at our side, but it is not so, because He always covers us and frees us from our adversaries.
The psalmist David had difficult moments, he felt lonely, he had no help, sometimes he had doubts about God accompanying him, that is why he made these supplications, asking the Lord not to turn away from him.
But be not thou far from me, O Lord: O my strength, haste thee to help me.
God never left this humble man alone, who was chosen to be king of Israel, but there were times when the psalmist David failed in the presence of God, that is why he was afraid that God would leave him alone, because he knew he had done it wrong.
It is remarkable to see David’s expression, asking God to help him, because He was his strength, who else could come in his help but God? That’s why he did not want God to leave him alone, but to walk with him.
Deliver my soul from the sword; my darling from the power of the dog.
Our total trust must be placed in the Lord, as well as this man, who asked God not to turn away from him, because in the midst of his anguish he asked God to be his strength and his help.
That is why it is good that each day we ask God, just like this man, who humbled himself before God and made supplication so that the Lord would not abandon him, because he knew that without God he could not do anything, any battle could be lost, because God is God of the armies who has not lost a battle.
Save me from the lion’s mouth: for thou hast heard me from the horns of the unicorns.
God must always be our trust, because we can not trust in another, man tends to fail, but God does not. He is faithful and He fights our battles, as the psalmist David says, “Save me from the lion’s mouth: for thou hast heard me from the horns of the unicorns”. God is strong and courageous, He is faithful and will not turn away from us because His love and great mercy are upon us.
This is chaquuandra and o need lots of prayer that god keep me safe from evil and help me keep quiet of my blessings not to tell just see them and be happy not to let the devil take them from me and to get real knowledge of God thanks for your love and word of God
O Lord, do not be far from me
How many times are we desperate, feel abandoned or lost in this World?
It is possible that sometimes some of us have felt alone or lost in this world. The reason why that happens is that
we have turned away from the way. Or it occurs when we have stopped having fellowship with the Lord, when we have given up reading God’s Word and neglected to pray asking the Lord’s protection.
The enemy of our souls is near us. We can’t see him, but he is a rebel angel that hates God and his servants; and, like a lion in the jungle, he lies in wait to harm some child of God. The Devil wants us to be lost as sheep, so he attacks and makes us fall in sin.
As Jesus taught us to pray:
“And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil:”
Before getting into trouble and even coming to sorrow in our daily battle, we ought to pray to the Father who is in heaven; also trusting in Jesus, our Redeemer, that he will plead with the Father not to let us be attacked, nor harmed by the Devil.
And if we are lost or feel abandoned, let us lift up our eyes to heaven and pray to the Lord in spirit and truth, as David did: “But be not thou far from me, O Lord: O my strength, haste thee to help me.” Psalm 22:19
Let’s not abandon the protection of the Lord, so indispensable to be defended from the Devil’s attacks in our everyday life.
