God loves you

God has loved us all the time despite the failures we have had before Him, so much so that if He had not loved us He would not die for us on the cross of Calvary for our sins.

This truth should move our hearts deeply, because it shows us that the love of God does not depend on our performance, our works, or our ability to be faithful. His love existed even when we were far from Him, even when we failed repeatedly. God did not wait for us to become worthy; instead, He loved us first and demonstrated that love through the sacrifice of His Son. The cross is the greatest evidence that love is not just a feeling, but an action that gives itself completely.

God’s love for us is so profound that He gave His only son for humanity, being mistreated by us on earth during His ministry. The Bible tells us about these events during the sermons of Christ.

When we read the Gospels, we see clearly how Jesus walked among people with compassion, patience, and mercy. Yet, despite His goodness, He was rejected, misunderstood, and opposed. Many benefited from His miracles, but few truly embraced His message. Still, Jesus never stopped loving, teaching, and serving, because His mission was driven by the love of the Father.

Many of those who walked in the crowd, some to listen to the word of God and others mockers of it, others were seeking healing, and there were also scribes and Pharisees who criticized the Lord’s teachings.

This scene is not very different from what we see today. There are still those who sincerely seek God, others who approach Him only in moments of need, and others who reject or criticize the truth of His Word. However, the love of God remains the same, calling everyone to repentance, forgiveness, and reconciliation. Christ did not close His heart to any of them; instead, He opened His arms to all.

And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him.

1 John 4:16

This passage reminds us that knowing God is inseparable from knowing love. It is not possible to claim a relationship with God while living without love. When the love of God abides in us, it transforms our thoughts, our words, and our actions. It teaches us to forgive, to be patient, and to show mercy, even when it is difficult.

Truly the love of God is visible to all who want to abide in Him, today many reject the call of Christ in their hearts, so my question is how can they say that the Lord abides in them when they still do not have received Him.

Abiding in Christ is not merely a confession of words, but a daily commitment of the heart. It means allowing His love to guide our decisions and to shape our character. Those who truly abide in Him will bear the fruit of love, because His presence cannot remain hidden in a transformed life.

The book of John tells us that the love of God abides in that who also abides in Christ Jesus, because everyone who has known God has love and practices all that is good, but everyone who does not have the true love of Christ has not met Him.

This truth challenges us to examine ourselves honestly. Loving God and loving others are inseparable. When the love of Christ fills our hearts, it naturally flows toward our neighbors, our families, and even those who hurt us. This love is not human in origin; it comes from God Himself.

Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as he is, so are we in this world.

1 John 4:17

The perfection of love does not mean that we are flawless, but that God’s love reaches maturity in us as we walk in obedience and faith. This love gives us confidence, not fear, because we trust in what Christ has done for us. We no longer live condemned, but assured of His grace.

The love of God gives us to understand that our trust must be placed in the hands of the Almighty. If His love is within us, then we can give this love so deep to others and teach that only One can give of that great love, and that wonderful being is called God.

In a world filled with hatred, division, and selfishness, the love of God shines as a powerful testimony. When we live grounded in that love, we reflect Christ to the world and fulfill our calling as His children. Loving as He loved us is the clearest sign that God truly dwells in us.

We can perceive and appreciate the love of God toward men and women, who dwell on this world, when we see God’s love constrasted with people’s attitude: they do not love one another, but look for themselves, without thinking about their fellow men who are near them. They are always taking advantage of each opportunity they have to increase their goods only for them, or maybe for their children.

That is something natural or “standard”: a natural way of living among men and women on the earth. But it is not so with God, who made all creation out of love, to the welfare of people, and saw that it all was very good:
“And God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good.” (Genesis 1:32).

After our forefathers had fallen into disobedience to God, he prepared a solution to escape from the punishment they deserved. The Bible says that God promised them that the Devil, in the figure of the serpent, would be overcome. The Devil would be hurt by Jesus Christ, the seed of the woman.
That victory over the Devil costed Jesus his death on a cross, but on the third day he rose again. He did so out of love to people in the world.

From his sacrifice—from his giving himself up to die on a cross—we now benefit: all those who believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God sent to save sinners.
“And I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your seed and her seed; it shall bruise your head, and you shall bruise his heel.”
    (Génesis 3:15)

The way we can know God and his love, is by loving other people: which will be manifest if we think about and pray for them, and if help them in their necessities. And that, in turn, will show that we know God; for we read:

“As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good to all men, especially to them who are of the household of faith.” (Galatians 6:10)

“He that loves not knows not God; for God is love.”
    (1 John 4:8)

From a Spiritual Being who is love, as God is, and from heaven—where He is—, nothing can come down except blessings of love to his children, who dwell in love with him and with people, especially brothers.
“And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him.” 1 John 4:16

May the Lord God help us to understand how worthy of our love He is; because we have been cleansed and purified through Jesus Christ our Saviour.
