This people honoureth me with their lips

Jesus always spoke against the bad practices of the Pharisees and scribes, since these were the kind of leaders who appeared to be very clean on the outside, but inside they were like white washed sepulcres. God does not want us to be like them, God wants us to live a full holiness, and not a hypocrisy dressed in holiness that makes people believe that we are gods.

Jesus said to the scribes and Pharisees:

7 Ye hypocrites, well did Esaias prophesy of you, saying,

8 This people draweth nigh unto me with their mouth, and honoureth me with their lips; but their heart is far from me.

Matthew 15:7-8

At that time there was a very annoying situation with these leaders in Israel, and Jesus knew how to identify them very well and not only identified them but He did not let them pass by and every time He had the opportunity to tell them in their faces what they were doing bad, I did it.

Today we suffer a very similar situation, and there is a group of people who try to put the outside as the most important of all in the Christian life, lowering the biblical principles to such a degree that they remain completely forgotten and new doctrines are created that confuse people.

On the other hand, sometimes we believe that honoring God is just loudly shouting Hallelujah, but honoring God goes beyond words, it is about honoring Him with our lives every day.

So, dear brothers, let us live a life that honors God every second and let us follow to the target of the sovereign vocation that is our beloved Lord Jesus Christ.
