How to become a child of God

The greatest privilege that this world has had is to have received God made flesh. In history many men of renown have trod this world, and many of them we remember today, they speak of them in the history books. But there is someone called Jesus Christ who surpasses the importance of each being who has stepped on this world, since He is the only one who was able to give us the salvation of our souls, demonstrating a love that is indecipherable.

The death of Christ on the cross gave us the greatest treasure: “To be children of God”. There are no courses to be children of God, there are no works by which we can earn this precious title, the only thing that makes us children of God is the death of Christ on the cross, because by Him we are justified and saved from our evils, wherefore, saved from the wrath of God.

The Bible says:

12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:

13 Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.

John 1:12-13

When Christ came to die for us, many denied it, that is why the Scriptures say: “He came to his own and they did not receive him”. And even today there are many who do not accept Jesus as the Savior, but who see Him as any other man, and this is a grave error, Christ, Jesus, is the morning sun, He is God and His courage is infinite.

And what really makes us children of God is that we believe that Christ is God, that He became man and lived among us and through His death gave us a new birth, a spiritual birth.

Can you imagine all that it cost Jesus to make us children of God? It cost Him to humiliate Himself and suffer until death, therefore, we maintain our belief in Jesus, and live every day remembering that we are children of God, for which, we must act differently from others.

  1. How to become a child of God
    ======================
Becoming a child of God is not something we can decide for ourselves, but it is the Will of God.
This does not depend on us: it is God who has written our names in the Book of life, and it is recorded there that we are children of God for all eternity, because God has shown his mercy on us.
    The Bible says:
“So then it is not of him that wills, nor of him that runs, but of God that shows mercy.” (Romans 9:16)

We all that have received the Word of God, that is to say, the Lord Jesus Christ, have been born of God: because we were spiritually dead, and the power of the Holy Spirit was necessary for us to live and receive Jesus in our hearts.

“But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:
Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.”
    John 1:12-13

Really this is a mystery; this is a wonderful thing: that God had already thought of us a long time before our parents told this news with gladness: “A child is born to us!”

It is a blessing—something we can retain in our minds—that we have become children of God. But we also feel in our minds and souls how the power of God has worked in us and believe we have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, “Abba, Father”.
    (Romans 8:15)

We can cry confidently, in a friendly and loving way, “Abba, Father”: as a child, who feels he is loved by his father, does. We are adopted children of God.

May the Lord God act in our spirits and souls so that we can testify by our good behaviour that we are children of God for his glory’s name. Amen.
