God is powerful to give us more than we ask

God loves us—this is an absolute, unchanging truth that every believer must embrace deeply. One of the most basic foundations of Christianity is knowing, believing, and resting in the reality that God truly loves us. He loved us so intensely and so sacrificially that He gave His only Son on the cross of Calvary to free us from sin, death, and eternal condemnation. No human being has ever demonstrated a love comparable to the love God has shown. No one cares for us, sustains us, protects us, and carries us with greater tenderness and devotion than God Himself. Therefore, if at some point you have allowed the thought “God does not love me” to enter your mind, it is time to cast out that lie and hold firmly to the truth: God has loved you with an everlasting love.

The apostle Paul wrote profound words to the Ephesians regarding that love which surpasses all understanding—a love that cannot be measured, limited, or compared with anything known in this world. He declared:

20 Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us,

21 to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen.

Ephesians 3:20-21

These verses remind us that the God who loves us is not distant, weak, or indifferent. He is powerful, active, and intimately involved in our lives. He is able to do far more than we ask in prayer, more than we imagine in our thoughts, and more than we can comprehend with our limited understanding. His power works in us, not outside of us; it sustains us from within and strengthens our inner being. And all of this flows from His love.

Regardless of whether we are going through painful trials, deep emotional wounds, days of uncertainty, nights filled with tears, or burdens that seem too heavy to carry—God’s love remains firm. Even when we do not understand our circumstances, even when our prayers appear unanswered, or when our strength diminishes, the love of God does not change. Our situations may shift, our emotions may fluctuate, but God’s heart toward us remains constant and eternal.

Many times we fall into the trap of thinking that God’s love is measured by our circumstances. If everything goes well, we say, “God loves me.” When trials come, we begin to question His goodness. But Paul reminds us that God is capable of giving “exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think.” This means that God not only hears our prayers—He also exceeds them. He sees the bigger picture. He answers according to His perfect will, His perfect time, and His perfect wisdom.

We must cling to this truth especially in difficult times. When your heart feels shaken, remember: the love of God stands unshaken. When fear whispers lies, remember: the love of God speaks truth. When sorrow weighs heavily on your soul, remember: the love of God carries you.

Beloved brothers, let us not lose heart. Let us rise with renewed strength, lift our hands in worship, and bend our paralyzed knees before the One who gave everything for us. Let us give glory to Jesus Christ for His unbreakable love—a love that does not fade with time, that does not depend on our performance, that does not diminish when we fail, and that does not weaken when life becomes difficult.

God loves you—not in a general or distant way, but personally, intentionally, and eternally. He loved you before you knew Him, He loves you now in your struggles, and He will continue loving you for all eternity. Rest in that love today. Take refuge in it. Let it be the anchor that stabilizes your soul. And when you pray, do so with confidence, knowing that the God who loves you can do far more than you could ever imagine.

Praise for the eternal mercy of the Lord

In the epistle of Paul to the Ephesians, chapter 3, he says that he bows his knees to the Father of Jesus in prayer, so that those brothers may know the love of Christ which passes knowledge.

To know the Love of Christ is something impossible for us, that have the seed of sin in us: we are inclined to do evil and to hate more than to love. As the apostle Paul writes: that in him, in his flesh, dwells no good thing, and he does not find how to perform that which is good (Romans 7:18).

Love is of God, it is a capacity that God puts in those who are born of Him; and they are called to love one another. If we love brothers, we Know God
    (1 John 4:7).

So we need the power of God to act in us in order to know the love of Jesus Christ. He can do it more abundantly that we ask or think (Ephesians 3:20).

To know the love that Jesus feels to us will make our love to Him increase. This will bless our lives.

May the Lord God work in us to love our Lord Jesus Christ more abundantly than we can currently do it.
