Every day we must thank God for His great love, for His mercy, for His kindness to each one of us, because His justice is on each of His children.
Gratitude should be one of the most natural responses that flows from the heart of a believer. However, truthfully, many times we become accustomed to God’s blessings and forget to appreciate the countless ways in which He sustains, guides, and protects us. We wake up, breathe, walk, and carry out our daily activities under the constant care of a loving Father, yet we often overlook these gifts. Still, God remains faithful. Even when we lack gratitude, even when we forget to thank Him as we should, He continues to show mercy and justice because His character does not depend on our emotions or attitudes.
Sometimes we are ungrateful toward God even when we clearly see His signs and miracles. We know He has delivered us from dangers, from spiritual battles, from sorrow, and from people who sought to harm us, and yet our hearts can become slow to give thanks. How, then, can we fail to acknowledge His goodness? How can we forget the God who has never abandoned us? This is why the psalmist reminds us that God will uphold justice even when we are imperfect in our gratitude. He is a God who defends, rescues, and vindicates His people.
He upholds the cause of the oppressed and gives food to the hungry. The Lord sets prisoners free,
Psalm 146:7
God has compassion on all those who are oppressed, despondent, hungry, or lacking love. He lifts the heart that is burdened, He comforts the soul that is weary, and He frees the captive—whether imprisoned physically, emotionally, or spiritually. God is always active, even in the unseen moments of our lives. He works on behalf of the humble and the obedient, guiding them into righteousness and protecting them from the traps of the enemy.
There is no situation too dark for God to illuminate, no chain too strong for Him to break, and no sorrow too deep for Him to heal. His justice is not like human justice—limited and inconsistent. His justice is perfect, righteous, and full of compassion. He knows the intentions of the heart, the pain of the afflicted, and the hidden struggles that no one else sees.
The Lord gives sight to the blind, the Lord lifts up those who are bowed down, the Lord loves the righteous.
Psalm 146:8
Everyone who decides to follow the Almighty God will experience His help and His deliverance. God opens the eyes of the blind—not only physically but spiritually. He allows us to see the truth, to understand His Word, and to walk in the light. He strengthens those who are bowed down, carrying heavy burdens, and lifts them up so they may continue moving forward. He protects the righteous, those who strive to walk in holiness and obedience, shielding them from the attacks of their adversaries.
God’s love for the righteous is a protective love. He sees their struggles, their temptations, and their fears, and He surrounds them with His strength. Though the righteous may stumble, God lifts them up. Though they may feel overwhelmed, God refreshes their soul. In every season, He remains faithful.
The Lord watches over the foreigner and sustains the fatherless and the widow, but he frustrates the ways of the wicked.
Psalm 146:9
God is always attentive to widows and supports them in difficult times. He shelters the foreigner, the one who feels alone or out of place, and He sustains the fatherless, embracing them with His tender care. His compassion reaches those society overlooks, proving that His heart is close to the broken and vulnerable. But those who do evil, who walk in wickedness and rebellion, will find their path frustrated, for God Himself has declared it. He will not allow evil to prosper indefinitely.
Therefore, let us give thanks daily for a God who sees, hears, delivers, restores, and judges with righteousness. His mercy endures forever.

==================
The oppression of wicked people is determined by their injustice, which is manifested when they make others suffer in unjust judgments that are executed without compassion.
Not so with the Lord God of heaven and earth, who has mercy on people, makes good and helps those that are oppressed.
He is the Lord God to whom we must give glory, honor and praise.
“Which executes judgment for the oppressed: which gives food to the hungry. The LORD looses the prisoners:
The LORD opens the eyes of the blind: the LORD raises them that are bowed down: the LORD loves the righteous:
The LORD preserves the strangers; he relieves the fatherless and widow: but the way of the wicked he turns upside down.” (Psalm 146:7-9)
In such a way, indeed, the Lord God shows his justice and holiness.
Who is like our God? He has opened our eyes to see his Glory and Goodness. He has lead us to meet his beloved Son, Jesus Christ, and believe in Him, in his gospel of salvation. He has redeemed us from our sins. He has taken our place and has received the punishment our sin deserved. Trusting in Him we expect to be admitted in His house on that day.
May the Lord God be blessed and praised for his justice and Holiness.
AMEN.
