Defeating the giant that makes you war!

Without a doubt we all remember the emblematic story of David and the giant Goliath. This story has been taught to us since childhood and even as adults we have heard hundreds of preachings about what happened that day when the Philistines surrounded the people of Israel and the whole town trembled before the giant Goliath.

And it is good to remember that story, because given the circumstances of the moment it seemed that the Philistines had the battle won, however, within the people of Israel there was someone who knew the God of Israel, the God who opened the Red Sea and made His people to pass by the Jordan in dry, that man was called David, and although he was not a giant, he was clothed with the power of God.

It was impossible for all that David could defeat the Philistine Goliath, however, in a conversation David had with King Saul, he said:

34 But David said to Saul, “Your servant has been keeping his father’s sheep. When a lion or a bear came and carried off a sheep from the flock,

35 I went after it, struck it and rescued the sheep from its mouth. When it turned on me, I seized it by its hair, struck it and killed it.

36 Your servant has killed both the lion and the bear; this uncircumcised Philistine will be like one of them, because he has defied the armies of the living God.

37 The Lord who rescued me from the paw of the lion and the paw of the bear will rescue me from the hand of this Philistine.”

Saul said to David, “Go, and the Lord be with you.”

1 Samuel 17:34-37

David had gone through several circumstances, such as having to face a lion or a bear, and he was aware that although Goliath was big, the God he served was much bigger than that giant who was making war on the people from Israel. And you, do you think that God is bigger than the difficult time you are going through? God is God and does not know the impossible, and we must know how powerful our God is.

We all remember what follows in the story, and it is that with a stone David could defeat that giant, but remember that it was not simply the stone, but the power of God that accompanied David. Dear brothers, we are clothed with the power of God, we must only believe in Him and in His time He will bring down every giant that makes us war.
