I will heal your wounds

One of my favorite stories is that of the people of Israel, since in my Christian life I have been able to learn much from God through the errors of this people and from the moments of constant seek. Israel was like a child, God filled them with grace and favor and suddenly they forgot their God as if He had never done anything for them. God always had to remind them what they had to do and the most incredible thing of all is that God never got tired of them, but admonished them, punished them, corrected them and loved them. Through this story we can understand that there is no other father like our Heavenly Father, full of patience and tenderness.

In chapter 30 of the book of Jeremiah, God tells the people of Israel how they had turned away from God to the point that the other nations said, “This is Zion, of which no one remembers”. It is true that Israel was paying the consequences of their sins, but it is also true that God never forgot them and in the same way God never forgets us. If you think that God has forgotten you, either because you are going through a very dark moment, I want to tell you that God never forgets His children, God is always aware of us to keep us on the path. God protects His people.

In spite of all the precarious and painful circumstances that the people of Israel were going through for their own rebelliousness, God gave them words of encouragement through the prophet Jeremiah saying:

16 But all who devour you will be devoured;
all your enemies will go into exile.
Those who plunder you will be plundered;
all who make spoil of you I will despoil.

17 But I will restore you to health
and heal your wounds,’
declares the Lord,
‘because you are called an outcast,
Zion for whom no one cares.’

Jeremiah 30:16-17

You will say: How can God defend to such a magnitude a people who deviated hundreds of times? Then I ask you: How can God love us when we have transgressed hundreds of times? Dear brother and friend, we must understand that the love of God has no limits, God’s desire to save us has no borders, there is nothing and no one to stop the powerful saving hand of our God.

Are you going through a process in which everyone has forgotten you? No matter how many have been thrown away or forgotten, no matter how many say that God has already forgotten you or that you are no longer graceful, none of that matters, what matters is God’s faithful promise that He will lift you up, heal your wounds, will put you in better places, restore your heart and raise your head in front of all.

Friends, there is no time to go back, there is only time to rise in the Lord and give Him glory and honor for how good He has been with us.

    The Lord God is a God faithful, just and merciful. Besides he is a severity God, but he also is slow to wrath, because he is love.

    If we pass through problems and difficulties here, and we may be wounded, we will be healed by the Lord. He has promised it.

    We ought to feel very glad to be children adopted of God by the grace of Jesus Christ. May his name be blessed for ever.
