When we are transformed by Jesus, this means that everything we have been in the past has already been changed, because we made a decision and that decision was the best, that of following Christ.
The transformation is that which we receive when we decide to open our hearts so that God enters and does what He wants in us, this change allows us to forget everything we once practiced, everything that we were. But God came and changed us.
And was transfigured before them: and his face did shine as the sun, and his raiment was white as the light.
Matthew 17:2
The transfiguration of Jesus was amazing, as verse 2 of chapter 17 of the book of Matthew tells us where Jesus shined like the brightness of the sun, this event was wonderful.
All those who were there witnessing that great miracle, that never seen feat, were completely surprised.
And not only the book of Matthew talks about transformation, throughout the Bible we can find many characters that were transformed.
But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.
2 Corinthians 3:18
Here we can see the expression of the writer of the second letter to the Corinthians making a clarification of how we can contemplate the beauty of Jesus, and seeing this marvelous glory and splendor, we are completely transformed, when looking with open face His majesty, His power.
When we come before God, we must ask that our whole being be changed and that His grace descend upon each one according to His will. If we believe all this will be possible, because God called us to change, so that we can also lead others to that change and that sublime grace that comes from God.
One of the greatest evidences of a true transformation is that our desires begin to align with the desires of God. Before Christ reached us with His grace, we walked according to our own passions, thoughts and ambitions, but when His light touched our hearts, everything took a new direction. The things that once enslaved us lose their power, and the things that once seemed unimportant now become precious. The transformation of Christ is not merely external; it penetrates the deepest areas of the soul, cleansing, renewing, and redirecting us toward a life that reflects His character. This change does not happen in one day, but it is progressive—“from glory to glory”—as the apostle Paul reminds us.
Just like the disciples who witnessed the radiant transfiguration of Jesus, we also experience moments when God allows us to see His glory in such a clear way that it strengthens our faith and renews our commitment to Him. These experiences remind us that the Christian life is not based on religious routines but on a living relationship with a Savior who continues transforming His people daily. And even when we face weaknesses or struggles, the Spirit of the Lord continues shaping us into the image of Christ with patience and love. Transformation does not mean perfection, but direction. It means that we no longer walk toward darkness, but toward the light of the One who called us.
This is why we should seek God with a sincere heart, asking Him every day to continue His work in us. Transformation is a divine process that requires surrender, humility, and perseverance. When we allow God to mold us, He not only changes our inner life, but also uses us as instruments of His grace to influence others. A transformed life becomes a testimony of hope for those who still walk in confusion or despair. Let us therefore continue asking the Lord to perfect His work within us, trusting that the One who began the good work will carry it on to completion. May our lives be a clear reflection of the transforming power of Christ, inspiring others to seek that same glorious change that comes from God alone.
The Spiritual Depth of Metamorphosis in Christ
To understand the concept of spiritual transformation, we must look at the Greek word metamorphoo, from which we derive “metamorphosis.” This indicates a complete change of form, structure, and nature. When the Gospel speaks of being transformed by Jesus, it is not referring to a superficial adjustment of behavior or a simple moral improvement. It is a radical ontological change where the old man dies and a new creature is born in the spirit. This process is initiated by the Holy Spirit and sustained by the grace of God.
The Architecture of a New Heart
The heart of man is the center of his will and emotions. In its natural state, the heart is inclined toward self-preservation and earthly desires. However, the divine intervention of Jesus Christ creates a new architecture within us. God replaces the “heart of stone” with a “heart of flesh,” sensitive to His voice and His commands. This internal restructuring is what allows a person to suddenly find joy in things they once ignored, such as prayer, the study of the Holy Scriptures, and acts of selfless service.
Overcoming the Shadows of the Past
One of the most significant challenges in the journey of faith is the weight of past mistakes. Many believers struggle with guilt, yet the transforming power of Christ acts as a solvent for the chains of yesterday. By accepting the sacrifice of Jesus on the cross, the believer receives justification, which means being declared righteous before God. This spiritual reality must manifest in our daily psychology; we are no longer defined by our failures but by our identity in the Kingdom of Heaven.
The Mystery of the Transfiguration as a Pattern
The event on Mount Tabor, where Jesus was transfigured, serves as a blueprint for what God desires to do in the life of every believer. The glory of Christ was not something added to Him from the outside; it was the manifestation of His internal divine nature. In a similar way, Christian transformation is the outward manifestation of the indwelling Christ. As we surrender to His Lordship, His character begins to “shine through” our personalities, words, and actions.
Witnessing the Divine Splendor
The disciples Peter, James, and John were forever marked by what they saw. Witnessing the majesty of God creates a holy awe that reorders our priorities. When we “behold His glory” through meditation on the Word and deep worship, our earthly problems begin to shrink in perspective. The brightness of His presence exposes the vanity of worldly pursuits, encouraging us to seek first the righteousness of God.
The Role of the Holy Spirit in Daily Change
Transformation is not a feat of human willpower. It is a synergistic work where the believer provides the willingness and the Holy Spirit provides the power. The Spirit acts as a counselor and a refiner, pointing out areas of our lives that need to be surrendered. This constant interaction creates a sanctification process that lasts a lifetime. The Spirit uses the trials of life to polish our character, ensuring that the fruit of the Spirit—love, joy, peace, patience—becomes our natural response to external pressures.
From Glory to Glory: The Progressive Journey
The Christian walk is often described as a path that grows brighter and brighter until the full day. The phrase “from glory to glory” suggests that there are levels of spiritual maturity. We do not reach the fullness of Christ the moment we believe; rather, we enter into a school of discipleship. Each day presents an opportunity to reflect more of the image of God. This progression requires a conscious effort to “renew the mind,” as the apostle Paul instructs in the book of Romans.
The Renewal of the Mind
Our minds are often cluttered with the patterns of this world—anxiety, competition, pride, and fear. Transformation requires a systematic replacement of these worldly patterns with biblical truths. By immersing ourselves in the teachings of Jesus, we begin to think as He thinks. We start to see people through the eyes of compassion rather than judgment. We begin to see obstacles as opportunities for faith rather than reasons for despair. This cognitive renewal is essential for a stable and fruitful Christian life.
The Impact on Human Relationships
A life transformed by Jesus inevitably changes how we interact with others. Selfless love becomes the hallmark of the believer. Where there was once resentment, the grace of God brings forgiveness. Where there was once selfishness, the Spirit brings a desire to build others up. This social dimension of transformation is one of the most powerful testimonies to the world. When people see a community of believers living in unity and sacrificial love, they are seeing the tangible evidence of the Gospel’s power.
Aligning Desires with the Divine Will
The shift in our desires is perhaps the most profound evidence of spiritual birth. Before Christ, our compass was set toward “the self.” After Christ, the compass is recalibrated toward the will of the Father. This does not mean we lose our individuality, but that our individuality finds its highest expression in God’s purpose. We find ourselves wanting to pray not out of duty, but out of a genuine hunger for communion with the Creator.
The Freedom found in Obedience
Paradoxically, true freedom is found in becoming “slaves to righteousness.” When we follow our own sinful impulses, we end up in the bondage of addiction, bitterness, and emptiness. However, when we submit to the authority of Jesus, we find the freedom to be who we were truly meant to be. Obedience to God is not a restrictive cage; it is a protective hedge that keeps us within the sphere of His blessing and peace.
The Call to be Instruments of Grace
God does not transform us solely for our own benefit. He changes us so that we can become vessels of honor, fit for the Master’s use. Every believer is called to be a light in the darkness. Our transformed lives serve as a bridge for others to reach the Savior. By sharing our testimony and living with integrity, we demonstrate that the power of Jesus is real and available to everyone. We become ambassadors of a Heavenly Kingdom in a world that is desperately searching for meaning.
Perseverance in the Process of Refinement
There will be times when the process of transformation feels painful. Like gold in the furnace, the dross of our character must be removed. These moments of divine discipline are actually proofs of God’s love. He loves us too much to leave us as we are. We must hold onto the promises of God during these seasons, knowing that the end result will be a radiant faith and a character that reflects the purity of Jesus. The sovereignty of God ensures that even our mistakes can be used for our growth if we remain humble and repentant.
Conclusion: The Eternal Perspective of Change
Ultimately, the transformation we experience on earth is a preparation for eternity. We are being fitted for a Kingdom where sin and sorrow will be no more. The work of Jesus in our souls is the guarantee of our future inheritance. As we continue to look at Him with an “open face,” we are being prepared to see Him as He is. This hope should motivate us to pursue holiness and to cherish every moment of our spiritual journey. Let us embrace the transforming touch of Christ every day, allowing His light to penetrate every corner of our existence until we are fully swallowed up by His glory and love.
The faithfulness of God is the bedrock of our hope. He who started the work in you is not a man that He should lie, nor a son of man that He should change His mind. If He has called you into this marvelous light, He will provide the strength to finish the race. Keep your eyes fixed on Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, and watch how His redemptive power turns your life into a masterpiece of divine grace. The invitation remains open: come to Him, surrender all, and be transformed forever.
In this walk, we find that the mercy of God is new every morning. Even when we stumble, the hand of the Lord is there to lift us up and continue the refining process. True transformation is marked by a spirit of repentance and a heart that quickly returns to the presence of the Father. There is no shadow that His light cannot pierce, and no heart that His love cannot soften. Trust in the Holy Spirit to guide you into all truth and to complete the glorious image of Christ within you, for the honor and praise of His holy name.
May we live each day with the conscious awareness that we are being changed. Let us not resist the potter’s hand, but rather say, “Lord, have Your way in me.” In this submission, we find our true purpose and the joy that surpasses all understanding. The world may change, circumstances may shift, but the transforming Word of God remains the same yesterday, today, and forever. Walk in the victory of Christ and let His peace rule in your heart as you are daily renewed in His unfathomable grace.

Being Transformed to Transform
=======================
But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.
2 Corinthians 3:18
What relationship, according to God, can there be between Christ and the Devil, or between light and darkness. No relationship can exist between holiness and wickedness.
We know that you and me are evil people by nature, so we cannot have fellowship with the Lord Jesus Christ. It is essential that we are changed, transformed.
People are transformed when the Spirit of God acts in them. Then we have the liberty to draw near to Jesus, the Lord God of heaven and earth, we are made able to feel that we have transgressed the Law of God. Then we confess our sins to the Lord and we begin to run the race of faith.
We are not conformed to this world and thoughts of people, who do not believe in God, nor His Word, but we are transformed by the renewing of our minds.
The people of God have been called to help others to be transformed also. We must speak to others, first of all by our good behaviour. Bad words, lying, covetousness or evil intentions do not show that we are followers of Jesus.
After that we ought to speak about God, Jesus Christ and his plans of salvation for sinners, in order to convince them and so that they may come them to believe and repentance. This can transform and create in them a hope of everlasting life through Jesus Christ, the Lord God, who has died for us all.
May the Lord God lead us to preach others the good tidings of salvation by His Holy Spirit.
