New heaven and a new earth

Every day of our lives we must expect what God promised for each one of us, but we must also abide trusting in Him because He is faithful and He fulfills what He promises over everything that is opposed.

But in keeping with his promise we are looking forward to a new heaven and a new earth, where righteousness dwells.

2 Peter 3:13

Just as those people waited on the promise of God, being faithful until the death and not mattering everything that came to make war, they always lived praying to the Lord to strengthen them and help them in their difficult times.

So then, dear friends, since you are looking forward to this, make every effort to be found spotless, blameless and at peace with him.

2 Peter 3:14

Peter urged all people to believe the promises of the Lord, not to faint because the Lord left the Holy Spirit to strengthen them in the most difficult moments of their lives.

Bear in mind that our Lord’s patience means salvation, just as our dear brother Paul also wrote you with the wisdom that God gave him.

2 Peter 3:15

It is good that we stand firm in the ways of the Lord so that when He comes for us He finds us without spot or wrinkle because the Lord does not come to seek sin, but he comes to look for a holy people.

He writes the same way in all his letters, speaking in them of these matters. His letters contain some things that are hard to understand, which ignorant and unstable people distort, as they do the other Scriptures, to their own destruction.

2 Peter 3:16

Jesus promised each of them a new earth and a new heaven, where there will no longer be hunger, sadness or pain, there will no longer be weeping, because the Lord Himself will wipe away every tear from their eyes. The Lord will be their shepherd and will be with them for ever and ever.
