God has not given us a spirit of cowardice

The Bible tells us about a young pastor named Timothy, whom many of us know as the apostle Paul’s disciple. Something very important that we should know about Timothy is the time, the time in which he was pastoring is not like now, it was a time of persecution, where Christians died for professing the name of Christ and that is why we should value the Timothy’s ministry, since, as a young man, he underestimated the treasures of this world, entertainment and all the carnal things to follow Christ.

Even though today we do not live in a world like that, where Christians are persecuted to death (depending on the country), we live in a world where we have many proofs, where evil is increasing, and sincerely it is a very difficult world, but this does not mean that it is impossible to live in a world like this, but it does mean that we must renew our minds in the Lord every day in order to survive.

The apostle Paul told Timothy some words that we should make our own:

6 For this reason I remind you to fan into flame the gift of God, which is in you through the laying on of my hands.

7 For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline.

8 So do not be ashamed of the testimony about our Lord or of me his prisoner. Rather, join with me in suffering for the gospel, by the power of God.

2 Timothy 1:6-8

Here are some key words for Timothy: fan into flame, God gave us does not make us timid, do not be ashamed of the testimony about our Lord. All these words for Timothy are from what we said earlier, at that time there were many persecutions against the church and these words from the apostle were accurate for his young disciple.

In the same way we have to stoke the fire of God in our hearts, we must preach the gospel, give testimony of our Lord in every place, let the whole world know that we serve the living God.
