We must understand that, if we achieve something, even a little, we feel happy in the Lord and not sad because many people get a great fortune, but their mind is not calm.
Some get a lot of bad money, which is not enjoyed, but also how they get it, it goes away, because that money did not come with justice, but by illicit means.
Through love and faithfulness sin is atoned for; through the fear of the Lord evil is avoided.
Proverbs 16:6
There is only one who can take away the sin of man, and the fear of God will make them turn away from evil, the fear of God causes people to forget evil, and that they stop doing everything that they practiced, and this is because the Lord entered their hearts.
We know that many get away from evil, but others continue to commit injustice to get what they want, they are able to kill, steal, and do everything that is within their reach, they do this for the love of money.
When the Lord takes pleasure in anyone’s way, he causes their enemies to make peace with them.
Proverbs 16:7
One thing that happens is that when man departs from the ways of evil, then God helps them and puts their enemies at peace with them, because nothing is impossible for God. The Lord can do all things, He knows our minds and hearts.
Better a little with righteousness than much gain with injustice.
Proverbs 16:8
Keep in mind that God likes everything that comes with justice, the Lord is pleased with these things we do, without having to use violence, because He is a just and merciful God. Practice justice and if you receive little, be with pleasure in the eyes of the Lord.
When we meditate on these verses from Proverbs, we are reminded that the value of what we have is not measured by quantity but by the purity with which it was obtained. Many people pursue wealth as if it were the ultimate purpose of life, but Scripture teaches us that blessings gained without righteousness only bring sorrow. True peace does not come from abundance, but from walking in integrity before God. The person who walks uprightly may not hold great possessions, yet carries something far more precious: a clean conscience.
The world encourages the opposite. Society often applauds those who accumulate riches regardless of the methods used, celebrating success but ignoring the destruction caused on the way. However, the kingdom of God operates under very different principles. The fear of the Lord—which is reverence, obedience, and a heart inclined toward holiness—remains the safeguard that protects a person from evil and leads them into true wisdom. Sin is not overcome by human strength but by a heart transformed by God.
A person who fears the Lord abandons deceitful gain because the presence of God brings conviction and light. Even if the path of righteousness seems slower or less profitable, it is the only path that carries eternal reward. God honors those who choose what is right, even when no one else sees it. And He not only blesses them spiritually but, as Proverbs teaches, He is even able to reconcile enemies and bring peace where there once was conflict.
This is a profound truth: when we walk in obedience, God defends us. Many times we want to justify ourselves or fight our own battles, but the Scripture reminds us that He is the one who goes before us. The peace God gives is not the result of our strategies, but of His favor resting on an obedient heart. That is why living with justice is much greater than achieving wealth through unjust means. What comes from evil disappears, but what comes from God endures.
Let us reflect deeply on this. If our joy depends on material gain, we will always live in frustration because wealth fades, but if our joy is rooted in pleasing the Lord, then even having little becomes enough. Righteousness elevates the soul and brings rest, while injustice only opens doors to fear, anxiety, and ruin. May our prayer always be for God to purify our motives, guard our hearts from greed, and teach us to value what is eternal above what is temporary.
In the end, Proverbs reminds us that the greatest treasure is not money, but a life aligned with the will of God. Better a little with righteousness, because that little—when blessed by the Lord—becomes abundance for the soul.
