It is better to trust in God

Many people trust in the true God and only in Him deposit everything they have, but others say: I have someone to believe in, someone who listens to me, who prospers me, who speaks to me, and who supposedly takes care of my relatives. These individuals build their confidence on ideas, objects, or human systems that have no real power. They cling to illusions because the human heart desperately seeks something to lean on. However, when that support is not the living God, it eventually collapses and leaves only emptiness behind.

But God’s Word tells us clearly that there is only One in whom we can truly believe and trust, and that is the eternal and sovereign Lord. Only He protects our lives, only He offers salvation, and only in Him is there a life filled with purpose and abundance. The Lord is not a distant concept or an invention of the human mind—He is the Creator who governs the universe and sustains the breath of every living creature. His faithfulness is unmatched, His power unchanging, and His care for us personal and real.

We must bear in mind that sculptures made by hands of men do not do anything, do not see, do not hear, do not touch, do not smell, do not talk, do not walk. These objects, though decorated and admired by many, are powerless. They are merely paintings or carvings, products of human imagination and skill, but without any divine essence. Only God is omnipotent, only God is eternal, and only God lives and reigns for centuries upon centuries. He alone deserves worship, because He alone speaks, moves, listens, directs, and transforms.

It is better to trust in the Lord than to put confidence in man.

Psalm 118:8

Why should we trust in God? Well, because God is the One who sustains us, who keeps us safe, who nourishes our hearts with peace, and who speaks to us through His Word. His commandments, promises, and teachings are not mere suggestions; they are the light that guides our steps so that if our path becomes crooked, we can straighten it out. When we rely on human beings, we inevitably face disappointment. But when we trust in God, we stand upon an everlasting foundation that cannot crumble.

It is better to trust in the Lord than to put confidence in princes.

Psalm 118:9

Many trust politicians and leaders—men who promise much but accomplish little. As mentioned before, countless people rely on what human hands have created, hoping these things will give them security or meaning. But human beings are limited; they disappoint, they forget, they lie, they change their minds, they break promises. They speak eloquently when they need your support, but once they receive what they want, they may no longer remember your name. Their help is temporary, unstable, and unreliable. But God—He never fails. He never lies. He never breaks a single promise. He watches over His children day and night, and His eyes see every need long before we speak a word. He is faithful, and His faithfulness has no end.

All nations compassed me about: but in the name of the Lord will I destroy them.

Psalm 118:10

Trust in God, for He alone has the power to remove and to establish, to lift up and to bring down, according to His perfect wisdom. No one can deceive God, because from the heavens He sees the entire earth. He observes the righteous and the wicked alike, nothing escapes His sight. His greatness is incomparable, His majesty causes the earth to tremble, and even the demons flee from His presence. He is the Lord who fights for His people, who breaks chains, who opens doors, who silences enemies, and who fulfills every promise He has spoken.

We believe God not because others tell us to, but because He has proven Himself faithful throughout all generations. Trust Him with all your heart, surrender your fears, and anchor your hope in His eternal Word. For every person who places their confidence in the Almighty will never be put to shame.
