The Bible tells us stories with which we can identify with certain situations that happen to us in this transient world. One of those stories is about that widow who did not have to feed herself or her young son, they only had one last bite of flour and then wait for death, because those were times when bread was scarce in the people of Israel. But, this story can teach us a lot, since God arrived at the perfect time through the prophet Elijah, and met the need of that woman.
We must trust fully in God, in the midst of scarcity, of nakedness, of problems that seem to have no solution, of disease and everything that stands like a giant, we must hold our flag high and pronounce: “Nothing will diminish my faith, this is just a process that will bring me closer and closer to God.”
The Bible says:
5 Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said,
“Never will I leave you;
never will I forsake you.”
6 So we say with confidence,
“The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid.
What can mere mortals do to me?”
7 Remember your leaders, who spoke the word of God to you. Consider the outcome of their way of life and imitate their faith.
