When we speak of the terrible majesty of God, we are referring to that the power of God is majestic, is a sovereign God to which we owe glory and honor. His power is wonderful and even when we feel His peace we rejoice in Him.
A God with a magnificent power to bless us and give us light every day, when we approach Him and we know Him, we realize that He will help us every day and will sustain us in delicate places.
Fair weather cometh out of the north: with God is terrible majesty.
Job 37:22
The expressions of Job are wonderful and it is because he was a man who had a terrible experience with the almighty God, this man was very processed, reading the story we will realize that he lost everything, but even losing everything never denied his faith that endured everything that came on him.
Satan attacked him so much thinking he would fail God, but he was wrong because Job did struggle to reach the goal, and after overcoming all his trials he received more than he had.
God gave Satan to understand that he trusted Job, and it was because he was upright and would not fail Him but would resist all adversities, but remember that God did not leave him alone but was always with him, although Job could not see Him .
One of the things that people believe, is that God is not in their difficult moments, but it is not so because God is present in all times of difficulties.
Touching the Almighty, we cannot find him out: he is excellent in power, and in judgment, and in plenty of justice: he will not afflict.
Job 37:23
How good when we exalt the name of Almighty God, and we give honor and glory because they are of Him and for Him, and something we know is that we can not reach Him, His Word describes His power and His great majesty.
He carries His justice in the palms of His hands, His great mercy keeps us every day, gives us peace and when the darkness wants come upon us, His light comes and enlightens us.
Men do therefore fear him: he respecteth not any that are wise of heart.
Job 37:24
Let’s not forget that God is the power, and that we must follow His Word to the letter, and if we want to have wisdom, only He can give it to us, but let’s not become wise in our own opinion, because this is not God’s liking.
It is good that every day we glorify God for everything we do and even for all the trials that come to our lives, remember God is our helper and the one who sustains us.
The terrible majesty of God is a theme that should lead us to contemplate not only His greatness, but also His nearness. Many times we limit ourselves to thinking of God as distant or unreachable, yet the same God whose majesty makes the earth tremble is the One who bends down to listen to the cry of His children. This combination of greatness and tenderness reveals a God who is both powerful and compassionate, firm yet merciful.
When Job speaks of the majesty of God, he does so from a place of deep suffering. His words are not theoretical; they are born from a heart that knew loss, pain, and confusion. Yet, even in the midst of his anguish, Job recognized something that many today fail to see: the greatness of God is not diminished by our circumstances. On the contrary, it is often in the darkest seasons of life that His majesty shines the brightest.
There are moments when we cannot understand God’s plans, and like Job, we feel surrounded by questions. But even when we cannot discern His purposes, we can trust His character. His majesty is not only displayed in the creation of the universe but also in the intimate way He guides our lives. Every trial, every moment of silence, and every answer He gives is woven with purpose.
God’s majesty also teaches us humility. Before a God so powerful, there is no place for pride. Job understood that no human wisdom, strength, or reasoning can compare with the wisdom of the Almighty. This truth should lead us to daily surrender, acknowledging that everything we are and everything we have depends on His sustaining hand.
As we meditate on these truths, may our hearts be moved to worship. Let us learn to see the majesty of God not only in His power but also in His patience, His justice, and His unending mercy. And may each day be an opportunity to draw closer to Him, trusting that the same God who upheld Job will also uphold us, guide us, and strengthen us in every step of our journey.
