The king of glory

Who is this the king of glory? God wise and powerful, king for all eternity. And His power is wonderful forever, His power is so remarkable and we can see this with His mights.

The earth is the Lord’s, and everything in it, the world, and all who live in it;
Psalm 24:1

We can say that everything that exists is created by Him and for Him. God created the heavens and the earth and its fullness, we can see how wonderful God is, the Bible tells us that when God created all things He says He made them one by one and He also called them by name.

2 for he founded it on the seas and established it on the waters.
3 Who may ascend the mountain of the Lord? Who may stand in his holy place?
4 The one who has clean hands and a pure heart, who does not trust in an idol or swear by a false god.
5 They will receive blessing from the Lord and vindication from God their Savior.
Psalm 24:2-5

Sometimes we judge and say: Does God exist? But before all these things that are around us and we see, can we say this? God exists and lives and reigns forever. He commands and everything obeys Him. God speaks and everyone listens to His great shuddering voice.

When Moses led the people of Israel something happened, it was that the people, seeing that God only spoke to Moses, asked Moses to hear the voice of God, then when the people were ready, God spoke to them, but they realized that they did not resist God’s shocking voice, they asked Moses to speak with God, and so what God said to Moses, he spoke to the people. When the people saw that it was Moses who was going to speak, they felt calm, and this is one of the feats that the Lord has done and that His power will always be remarkable to all.

It is good to recognize that God is the king of glory, that without Him we can do nothing, He is the one who allows us to make everything possible and who makes our lives secure every day in the Lord. It is good that, if you are not recognizing the one who has given you salvation, do it because He is the only one deserving of all adoration and exaltation.

Psalm 24 presents us with one of the most majestic descriptions of God’s authority, reminding us that everything that breathes, everything that moves, and everything that exists is under His sovereign care. The psalmist invites us to contemplate the greatness of a God who is not limited by time, space, or human concepts. When he asks, “Who is this King of glory?”, he is not posing a question of doubt but one of admiration, to awaken in our hearts a renewed sense of reverence.

As we meditate on these words, we understand that acknowledging God as King is not a mere statement of lips but a posture of life. If the earth is the Lord’s, then our lives also belong to Him. Our decisions, thoughts, and desires should be aligned with His will, allowing His holiness to shape everything we do. Clean hands and a pure heart, as the psalm states, are not symbols of perfection but of sincere surrender to the One who examines the deepest part of our being.

Furthermore, this passage reminds us that approaching God is a privilege granted by His grace. No one can stand in His holy place by their own merit; it is God Himself who purifies, restores, and calls us to fellowship with Him. The blessing and vindication mentioned by the psalmist are the result of walking faithfully in righteousness, not because we are strong, but because God is merciful.

The image of the people trembling before the voice of God in the time of Moses also teaches us a profound truth: the God of glory is not distant, yet His presence is overwhelmingly holy. The Israelites could not bear His voice, not because God sought to destroy them, but because sin cannot stand in the presence of absolute purity. This same God, powerful and awe-inspiring, is the One who today invites us to draw near through Christ, who opened a new and living way for us.

To recognize the King of glory is to recognize that our strength is insufficient. It is to depend on Him daily, to surrender our fears, plans, and burdens, trusting that His reign is perfect. When we truly see God as King, our worship changes, our priorities change, and our hearts begin to long for His presence more than anything else.

May we never forget that the King of glory is not a distant ruler but a loving Father who sustains our lives with His power. Let every day be an opportunity to honor Him, to seek His will, and to proclaim that He alone is worthy. If you have not yet given Him the place He deserves, today is a good day to bow before Him and acknowledge His eternal majesty.
