The apostle Paul says some very certain words and that is that we go through strong moments where our strength runs out and we can no longer:
3 Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort,
4 who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God.
2 Corinthians 1:3-4
Paul went through many difficult moments like the disciples, if we read very carefully we will find, the difficulties that the disciples went through preaching the salvation of the Lord and taking the word of God throughout the world.
But the good thing about all these parts is that when some of the disciples went through problems, they called God and also when the apostle Paul was in these moments he went to call God so that He would strengthen him at that moment.
It is very good that at times like this we can call Him, because that is what His Word says, that when we call Him He will answer us, that when we touch he will open us, and that when we look for Him we will find Him.
For just as we share abundantly in the sufferings of Christ, so also our comfort abounds through Christ.
2 Corinthians 1:5
But Paul himself was recognizing that, though afflictions come in a heap, do not let us cease to trust in Him who will also bring consolation in a heap. Let us remember something that Jesus said before His departure to heaven: I will leave, but I will not leave you alone but with you will be the Consoler: The Holy Spirit.
This man felt confident in Jesus Christ, and was that Paul had placed all his trust in Him because he knew that Jesus was his shield, his salvation and his wisdom, and that without Christ nothing could be possible.
We must recognize that God is the one who takes away our ailments and our afflictions, and who is always with us at all times to help us through all the moments of affliction that come into our lives. That is why it is important that if you are going through a difficult time and that you do not have the strength to continue, then stand up and ask the heavenly Father to help you move forward and give you new strength.
When we meditate on the experiences of Paul, we realize that his words are not theoretical nor distant from human suffering. Paul wrote these letters while facing persecution, rejection, loneliness, and even physical weakness. This gives great weight to his message, because he was not speaking from comfort but from the furnace of affliction. His life shows us that even the strongest believers can face moments of deep anguish, yet at the same time experience the supernatural comfort that comes only from God.
In our own lives, we often encounter seasons where we do not understand what is happening or why certain trials come our way. It is in those moments that the teachings of Paul acquire a deeper meaning. They remind us that suffering is not a sign of abandonment, but often a space where God reveals His faithfulness more clearly. Through affliction, He forms our character, strengthens our patience, and teaches us to depend completely on His grace.
Another important truth that Paul highlights is that the comfort we receive from God is not meant to stay only with us. It becomes a testimony and a tool to lift others who are walking through valleys of despair. In other words, every tear, every prayer, and every moment where we experience God’s consolation equips us to encourage those who feel unable to continue. This reveals the beauty of Christian community: we are called not only to receive strength, but to share it generously.
Just as Paul encouraged the believers of his time, these words continue to encourage us today. No matter how overwhelming life feels or how heavy our burdens become, God remains the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort. His consolation is not temporary; it renews the heart, restores hope, and lifts the weary soul. Therefore, let us hold tightly to His promises, knowing that He walks with us and sustains us even in the darkest hours.
