Billions of children have been born throughout the history of humanity, some have left a legacy, others a great legacy, but there is one that not only left a legacy, but what he did for humanity is unparalleled. Of course, the child we speak is our beloved Lord Jesus, who was born like any other child (from the womb of a mother), but who has no comparison.
The world has lived submerged in sin since that moment when Adam and Eve sinned. The world has lived under great darkness and oppression of sin. However, God has always had wonderful plans for humanity, He has loved us with a love that surpasses our hard hearts.
There is a prophecy from the prophet Isaiah that says:
Nevertheless the gloom will not be upon her who is distressed, As when at first He lightly esteemed The land of Zebulun and the land of Naphtali, And afterward more heavily oppressed her, By the way of the sea, beyond the Jordan, In Galilee of the Gentiles.
I love the end of this verse, where it speaks of the glory with which the road to the sea would be filled, on the other side of the Jordan there in Galilee of the Gentiles. This prophecy is about us: “The Gentiles”, who lived in great darkness and apparently without any hope, but God had something wonderful prepared for us and is that one day we would be enlightened by its immense light.
The Bible relates:
17 What is man, that You should exalt him, That You should set Your heart on him,
18 That You should visit him every morning, And test him every moment?
And even though we are nothing, God remembered us sending his only Son to die for the world on a cross to give us life or bring us out of darkness into the light.
About this child or savior, says Isaiah:
6 For unto us a Child is born, Unto us a Son is given; And the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
7 Of the increase of His government and peace There will be no end, Upon the throne of David and over His kingdom, To order it and establish it with judgment and justice From that time forward, even forever. The zeal of the Lord of hosts will perform this.
In advance the prophets spoke of the birth of this child, who is the savior of the whole universe, who died for our sins and brought great light to our hearts and changed our heart of stone for one of flesh. Praise Jesus forever!
We have the greatest privilege in the world: God loved us and loves us. That child was born, lived among men, died for men and today lives in each of our hearts.
