Human beings are well known for wanting to receive more than for wanting to give. And this belongs to our nature and we must fight against this, because what privilege do we have to receive? o What reward do we have to receive? I assure you that none. In the Bible there is a bliss for those who are generous:
In everything I did, I showed you that by this kind of hard work we must help the weak, remembering the words the Lord Jesus himself said: ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.’ ”
We love receiving divine favor, and that is why many times our prayers are more to ask things of God than to go to worship him or simply to be speechless before His might and majesty. Prayer is not simply to bring our list before God, it is also to render adoration.
Let’s stop seeing God as a father Noah to whom we want to ask for all our needs, let’s look at it with a deeper look, as someone to whom we must pay honor and adoration.
