A refuge in tempest

No one on this earth is exempt from the problems, from the diseases and from all kinds of difficulties that can be experienced, all of us at some time in our life have experienced situations of which we have feared and suddenly Boom! There they are and it only remains to face them because hiding is not the solution.

We Christians are not exempt from problems, because the wicked gets sick, we also get sick, the impious loses the job, it happens to us equally, in short, you just have to be human to face this type of circumstances. Now, there will always be differences between the people and I believe that we Christians make a big difference.

In the Bible we will find many men of God going through the most difficult trials of their lives, however, they never let their guard down, they kept believing in the God they served and we must have that same attitude. I could tell you a lot of biblical stories about men of God going through incredible trials, however, God saved them all, why? Because they knew they had a refuge in the storm and that is our very refuge: Jesus Christ.

The psalmist knew very well how to say:

1 God is our refuge and strength,
an ever-present help in trouble.

2 Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way
and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea,

Psalm 46: 1-2

This is the difference between the people of God and the non-believers, that we in the midst of so many problems know that we have a refuge, a Rock, a spring, our great strength. Therefore, it does not matter what kind of storm is happening, it does not matter that the earth opens in two or that the trees do not bear fruit, yet we have a refuge to hide in: God.

The world does not want that refuge. Many prefer to take refuge in alcohol, drugs, and all kinds of entertainment, but, the pain and the problem are still there, and perhaps growing and growing every day.

We believe in that word that God gave to the people of Israel:

The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still.”

Exodus 14:14

Dear reader, it does not matter for the difficult moment that you are going through at this moment, go in prayer before God, hide in Him, believe in Him, because He is our refuge in the middle of the storm and surely that God never will abandon us.

We, children of God, are faithful to Him and wait for Him in all our difficulties and every day: because we live, move and have our being in Him—for we are his offsprings. (Acts 17:28)

So we can be quiet and restful people, wherever we are; for we belong to God. And, indeed, in our troubles (which are the same that others experience), we have a powerful father who looks after us.

“God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.
Therefore will not we fear, though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the middle of the sea;” (Psalm 46: 1-2)

Even if we are fearful people and la small difficulty makes us trouble sometimes, our God is present; He is ready to send his angels, that will come in our help.

“The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still.” Exodus 14:14.
It is clear that the Lord God will save us in our troubles, so that we can understand we are his.
We must be still; he takes care of us.
