The immensity of God’s power

Who is God? He is an existing being, which is superior to men and angels. He is that incomparable being, full of absolute power, governor of the entire universe and of the heavens of the heavens. He is the ultimate expression of wisdom, power and holiness. What else can we say about God? I could fill these pages talking about how powerful and fearsome our Creator is and even then we would not reach the full knowledge of who God is.

We never finish knowing God. And this is why the apostle Paul says: “For now we see in a mirror, dimly, but then face to face. Now I know in part, but then I shall know just as I also am known.” (1 Corinthians 13:12) The Bible possesses approximately 3,5666,480 letters; 773,746 words; 31.102 verses; 1,189 chapters and 66 books and even with all that wonder of literary expression that speaks so much of God, we continue to see darkly. We continue to know only a little about who God is.

We have read so many portentous facts of God in His Word, things that when we read them we are impressed of all that God can do, of His power, however, that is not even one percent of the wonders that our Creator can do. I love a verse that says: But will God indeed dwell on the earth? Behold, heaven and the heaven of heavens cannot contain You. How much less this temple which I have built! (1 Kings 8:27).

Can you imagine the size, the immensity, of the heavens of the heavens? And yet they can not contain Him, because our God is greater than the heavens of the heavens, than the universe itself and everything that can exist, and for this reason Matthew presents the earth as the footstool of his feet and heaven his throne (Matthew 5:34).

Our God is great! We could live eternity of eternities and even then we would not finish knowing God. Do you realize who we serve? We do not serve Father Noah or superman, we serve the God of the armies of heaven. And it must be an honor for us to have that little knowledge of who He is.

Finally, the psalmist said:

Great is our Lord, and mighty in power;
His understanding is infinite.”
Psalm 147:5
...
The great love of God for the world
The powerful prayer of a barren woman

  1. God is so awesome in strength and power. When I think about the goodness of Jesus and all he done I cannot help but bless him. He is so loving, forgiving, caring, I cannot begin to understand his love toward me so when I have unfaithful by not giving him the praise due to him he is still faithful. I love him so much I do not want to do anything to him by the way I live.

    1. Amen! Amen! Amen! All we have to do my friend, is to fill our blank while we’re still having the opportunity to do so! Remember Jesus Christ went to the cross for me and you, so now we have to do our part for our brothers and sisters, just a little daily prayer for will help them find their ways to him!

  2. The immensity of God’s power
    ========================
    God is immeasurable and at no place can we locate Him. He has shown us the immensity of he power he has—which he displayed when he formed the universe, and that, even today, he spreads throughout his creation. God’s might cannot be accurately valued by people, because it escapes our ability00pĺ to determine it.

    “Great is our Lord, and mighty in power;
    His understanding is infinite.”
    Psalm 147:5

    If analyzed all the things he has created, surely we would see his power and majesty. But we will never be able to appreciate it in its true value and dimensions.

    None of us, people of the dust, has ever seen God. No human being can determine the place where He is. We are taught he is everywhere and nothing can contain God, as king Solomon said.

    “The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament shows his handiwork.” (Psalm 19:1)

    We are aamazed when we gaze at the firmament, full of stars; and through a telescope we could see planets or galaxies; or we could gaze at mountains, seas or oceans. But we cannot determine his power. However, we praise God for his goodness and his power.
    May his name be glorified
