Desire to be in the house of the Lord

Psalm 84 is a very significant Psalm for us, which teaches us how important it was for the psalmist to be in the house of God. Does it matter to us to assemble ourselves in the house of the Lord?

The psalmist opens this psalm with the exclamation: How kind are your dwellings, O LORD of hosts! Is this our exclamation? Without a doubt, the psalmist shows that thirst to be in the house of God and it is not for less that we likewise have the same feeling for being in the house of God. We live in very modern times where many believers are not interested in assemblig. On the other hand, there is also the excuse of work and many other things, but, is our longing to dwell in the house of God?

The psalmist also says: “Blessed are those who dwell in your house, they will perpetually praise you.” The author of this psalm declares that he who dwells in the house of God is a blessed man or woman. Here we can add another bliss: “Blessed is he that dwells in the house of God.” Why is he blessed? It is because he is fulfilling God’s purpose over man, which man himself since Eden has tried to cast aside for his own selfish desires.

It is really blessing to praise God, to belong to a group of people who worship the King of kings, since there are many people who walk in their sin and can not do it. Hallelujah for this.

We conclude with this verse well known to all of us:

Better is one day in your courts
than a thousand elsewhere;
I would rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God
than dwell in the tents of the wicked.

Psalm 84: 10

This is our best option: “to live in the house of God” and not only to live but want it. Through this post we invite you to pray to the Lord so that if this desire is not in you, He will put it.

...
Jesus is walking by your side, do you know Him?
God shows his power in front of our enemies
