Be patient and pray

There are two factors that go hand in hand in a Christian’s life and they are “patience” and “prayer.” Without a doubt, Jesus urged his disciples to live a life of prayer, why? The answer is simple: “That they may not fall into temptation” (Matthew 26:41). It is very true that when we neglect prayer, we tend to fall very quickly into things that God does not like, however, when we maintain a life of prayer, we remind ourselves that we have to put everything in the hands of God.

The Bible says in the Book of James 5:

Be patient, then, brothers and sisters, until the Lord’s coming. See how the farmer waits for the land to yield its valuable crop, patiently waitingfor the autumn and spring rains.

You too, be patient and stand firm, because the Lord’s coming is near.

James 5:7-8

We have already written a bit about prayer, but patience is another thing we must have at the time we pray, and in any other area of life. The apostle says: “Be patient, then, brothers and sisters, until the Lord’s coming.” There are times when we find ourselves in family problems, spiritual battles and every other day-to-day thing, and we pray to the Lord, but many times we lose patience at all, and that should not be the case, it is vital that we keep patience until the day when our Beloved Lord Jesus Christ manifests on earth.

The apostle James sets another example with those people who till the earth, they sow, but not everything is in sowing, they have to wait for the precious fruit of the earth, they must wait in the early and late rain. And I assure you that the farmers often lose their harvest, simply by some factor of nature. In the same way, dear reader, we have to be patient in the profession we lead, which is to follow Jesus Christ, because someday we will reap.

Let us wait patiently for the race of faith, for when our Lord Jesus Christ will be manifested to us, we will enjoy an incomparable glory, of which not everyone will participate.

In the world where we live, Christians or other people we meet, in the family or elsewhere, are a cause of problems or troubles, which need to be solved or require us to act to find a solution. And while we wait for that solution, we must show patience and persevere in it.

Faith helps us in every situation, and prayer: both elements make us feel stronger because we wait for the power of God.

We are living in the time of God’s grace:
“For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men,”
    (Titus 2:11)

Encouraged by this thought—that the grace of God has appeared—, by faith we can fight against any difficulty, whatever may come in our lives, knowing that our Lord is present, on our side, ready to defend us if our enemies want to hurt us. We must be patient, no matter what evil thing happens to us. We must pray to the Lord also in all our troubles.

So it is good for the people of God to remember this:
“You too, be patient and stand firm, because the Lord’s coming is near.”
    James 5:8

While we live here, the Devil will attack us or will put nets in our way so that we fall in sin; or people can disturb us otherwise. But the grace of God shall sustain us: yes, we are more than conquerors through Jesus Christ who loved us. He is our refuge and fortress in the evil day.

All troubles and problems will work out because the Lord is coming: the apostle said the Lord is near. We are expected to put our needs in the hands of the Lord to solve them; therefore, let’s live by faith in the hope the Lord is coming. And the peace of God will be in our hearts.

We hope the Lord God will be with us at all moments of our lives, but we must be patient and pray, always waiting for Him
