A Morning Prayer of Trust in God

Psalm 3 belongs to king David and is entitled “A morning prayer of trust in God”. It is a Psalm that will teach us different things and the main thing is to recognize that salvation belongs to our God and not to ourselves:

1 Lord, how many are my foes! How many rise up against me!

2 Many are saying of me, “God will not deliver him.”

3 But you, Lord, are a shield around me, my glory, the One who lifts my head high.

4 I call out to the Lord, and he answers me from his holy mountain.

5 I lie down and sleep; I wake again, because the Lord sustains me.

6 I will not fear though tens of thousands assail me on every side.

7 Arise, Lord! Deliver me, my God! Strike all my enemies on the jaw; break the teeth of the wicked.

8 From the Lord comes deliverance. May your blessing be on your people.

Psalm 3:1-8

This is not exactly the prayer we do every morning when we wake up, but we can make it a model in our day to day. In the first place we must understand that the psalmist David was a man who suffered much in the reign of king Saul, was persecuted by envy, despite David being a loyal, faithful and honorable man.

David makes a prayer to God telling him all the enemies he has: How many they rised up against him and they said about him: “God will not deliver him”. This reminds us when our Lord Jesus Christ was hanging on a tree, that those people who were there made fun of asking where his God was.

But we see a very important attitude in David, he knew that his shield was God and that he raised his head and made him stand in front of his enemies. How valuable it is when, at moments like these, we can recognize that God is with us and that no matter how many come against us, if God is with us there is no one who can make us front. David says, “I will not fear though tens of thousands assail me on every side,” David is saying here that there is nothing impossible for God, that He alone is God and that no matter adversity.

And we close with the most important part: “From the Lord comes deliverance. May your blessing be on your people…” Beloved reader, do you understand that salvation is from God? Sometimes we go through different difficulties in our day to day and throw our burden on ourselves and we forget that salvation to all our difficulties is only and exclusively in our God.

Through this article we invite you to believe in the salvation that comes from the one true God, our God. May we understand in difficult times that He is a shield around us. As Charles Spurgeon said: “When I can not see him, I will shelter myself under the shadows of his wings.”

  2. A Morning Prayer of Trust in God
    ======================
It is good for our spirits and souls to adore and pray to the Lord in the morning, as David did. Then we are ready to start our day and carry on with our other duties.
The almighty God takes care of his children, protects us ans helps us in our needs. When we are sick, hw makes someone look after us.

If our God takes care of us we will want nothing necessary for living; and if we manage well our incomes, we will have our needs met.

The Lord is our shelter in the evil day. He protects us against the enemy of our souls. The Lord is to us the good shepherd, whk orders his angels to stay near us:
“From the Lord comes deliverance. May your blessing be on your people.”
    Psalm 3:8

We are called to do all things decently and in order, so the Lord fulfills in us His good will, and he will bless us.
If we fail, and fall into something negative or dishonoring to Him, He gives us His hand to get up, and cures our wounds.

May our Lord God give us faith and strength to resist in the test. With him we will overcome all difficulties.

Let’s give thanks to and respect our God for He is good and loves us
