Bible verses for Sunday school

The Bible school or Sunday school is something that is not very valued in many congregations, and it should not be like that, since that is where we learn more about the Word of God. Then we leave you some beautiful biblical texts about the Word of God.

The Scriptures were inspired by God

We begin with the key biblical text for the Bible school that teaches us the usefulness of the scriptures.

16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:

17 That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.

2 Timothy 3:16-17

In order for us to be prepared to walk in the right ways of the Lord, we must study the Word of God.

The Words of God are clean

The words of our God are so clean that they are compared to refined and purified silver up to seven times:

The words of the Lord are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times.

Psalm 12:6

His Word is straight

The word of God is right and He is faithful in everything he does:

For the word of the Lord is right; and all his works are done in truth.

Psalm 33:4

The key for the young man to clean his path

Many failed human methods have tried to invent so that humanity straightens its steps, but its Word tells us clearly how a person can clean his way:

Wherewithal shall a young man cleanse his way? by taking heed thereto according to thy word.

Psalm 119:9

If we keep the Word of God in our hearts, we will be right in our walk.

The key to not sin against God

That person who keeps the words of God in his heart is less likely to fall into the clutches of sin:

Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.

Psalm 119:11

His Word is the one that illuminates us day by day

In this world lost by the darkness of sin, we need each day more of his Word to guide us on the right path:

Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.

Psalm 119:105

What do you do when you have to take a dark road? You go with a light to see correctly and not stumble. This is what the Word of God does in our lives, because it illuminates our walk and prevents us from stumbling.

Wait on your Word

La paciencia es algo que debemos cultivar y por eso debemos esperar.

I wait for the Lord, my soul doth wait, and in his word do I hope.

Psalm 130:5

Psalm 130 is a song of hope in which God will give redemption. If you are going through a trial, wait in His Word, that He is Faithful, and what He promised, He will fulfill.

His Word is clean and is a shield

In the next verse the first characteristic of His Word that we mention in this article is combined: It is clean. The other talks about waiting. His Word is a shield, a protection, but for whom, for those who wait on Him.

Every word of God is pure: he is a shield unto them that put their trust in him.

Proverbs 30:5

His Word is our sustenance

In addition to being the light that illuminates our path, the Word of God is what keeps us standing every day:

But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.

Matthew 4:4

We must be doers of His Word

It is not only reading and listening, we must practice his Word, because, as we will see in the next verse, whoever hears the Word, but also does it, will be compared to that wise man who built his house on the rock, which resisted the winds and storms.

Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock:

Matthew 7:24

We must be doers of the Word of God to stand firm before any obstacle that we want to face.

James also spoke of being doers of the Word, not just hearers so that we do not deceive ourselves.

But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.

James 1:22

That person who only sits on Sundays to listen to the sermons and already, is deceiving himself, because listening is only part of our duty as a Christian, we must also practice the things we learn through the Word of God.

Your Words remain forever

Everything that exists on this earth is perishable, but His Words are eternal:

Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away.

Matthew 24:35

How to be a true disciple of Christ

We already talk about reading, listening and practicing the Word of God, but another thing that commands us is to remain in it to be a true disciple of Jesus:

31 Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed;

32 And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.

John 8:31-32

And the great benefit of remaining in his Word is that we will be knowledgeable of the truth, which will set us free.

His Word is alive and effective

The Word of God is powerful, it produces changes in people, it can transform the most depraved being into a righteous and humble person.

For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

Hebrews 4:12

In the previous verse the Word of God is compared to a sword. Let us allow, besides being light in our life, the Word of God to be our weapon to overcome the evil one.
