Who is God? How many wonderful things can our beloved Creator do? The Bible is full from Genesis to Revelation of all the wonders that God has made to humanity, none of this is hidden, God has shown Himself in different ways to the world and today we continue enjoying the wonders of God. The Bible also tells us how God controls nature itself.
The prophet Nahum says:
5 The mountains quake before him
and the hills melt away.
The earth trembles at his presence,
the world and all who live in it.
6 Who can withstand his indignation?
Who can endure his fierce anger?
His wrath is poured out like fire;
the rocks are shattered before him.
7 The Lord is good,
a refuge in times of trouble.
He cares for those who trust in him,
These words of the prophet Nahum are an acknowledgment of the power of God, showing that even nature itself must tremble before His majesty, that also all who dwell in nature must submit to His reign. It also tells us a little about the wrath of God, how the human being or anything that exists can not stay before it, nor can hide before the wrath of the Mighty One of Israel.
This great chapter not only gives us to demonstrate an angry God, it also shows us His attribute of kindness, since Nahum tells us: “The Lord is good, a refuge in times of trouble. He cares for those who trust in him”.
Goodness is a powerful attribute of God, we as human beings do not have that attribute, we can only have goodness or mercy when there is a divine touch in our hearts, and that is why an occasion, when someone calls good to Jesus, He answers: Why do you call me good? Well there is only one, our Father who is in heaven.
God is good and is our strength in the day of anguish and to all those who trust in Him, that trust will never leave us in shame.
