Are all apostles? Are all prophets?

In the first letter to the Corinthians in its chapter 12, the apostle Paul tells us about the diversity of gifts. What is the diversity of gifts? Well, as the apostle himself presents it, this means that we all have particular gifts, that is, all we do not do the same. The body is composed of different parts, and not all do the same, and this is what happens inside the church, we are the body of Christ, and each one in particular, so that we do different things.

There is a system in the church today, which every day leads us more to disorder, we have churches where being prepared is not important, in the sense that, no matter what your gift, you can do everything, I mean: people They do not even know how to sing, they give him the opportunity to sing praises in the pulpit, and people who do not even know how to preach give them a sermon on Sunday.

Can you imagine a doctor telling a person who does not know about medicine that he wants to try him/her in an operation that he will perform on a patient? This is crazy! It is impossible! In the same way, can you imagine that the pastor will ask a brother who has never preached, who has not prepared and who simply does not know how to do it, to preach the next Sunday? Yes, you can imagine that, because every day happens. Is this right? Many people will show the excuse that what we do is for God and not for men, but that is exactly the point, “what we do is for God” and who is God? He is the most important personality of the universe, for which He must always receive the best, the excellence.

We must understand this: We all have a gift for God, but we do not do the same. Some preach, others sing, some pray, others clean the temple, etc. We are a body in Christ, which means that each part of the body performs a different function, a hand can not be a foot, and a finger can not be a head. The church of today must change its way of thinking about God, since we are doing a huge damage to the church of Jesus Christ:

27 Now you are the body of Christ, and each one of you is a part of it.

28 And God has placed in the church first of all apostles, second prophets, third teachers, then miracles, then gifts of healing, of helping, of guidance, and of different kinds of tongues.

29 Are all apostles? Are all prophets? Are all teachers? Do all work miracles?

30 Do all have gifts of healing? Do all speak in tongues? Do all interpret?

31 Now eagerly desire the greater gifts.

1 Corinthians 12:27-31

If we all do the same within the church, this can turn into a great mess, as we have already read: “There is a diversity of gifts”. We must prepare ourselves in this, to do what is best for God.

I remember once I visited the church of Pastor Miguel Núñez and they have a board that says each one of the service activities that take place in the church and invite the brothers to subscribe to the one that is of their interest and that they know is your gift I think it’s a very good way to know the capability of each one.

Brothers, the pulpit is not a platform where we test people, it is the most serious place that exists in the world, for which, we do not believe ourselves wise, each one has a different gift in the Lord and each one must work on his gift.
